What other instances of Tony betraying his best friends do we have in the MCU? He got into a (drunken) fight with Rhodey in IM2, but that's about all I can recall.

I can't imagine the MCU Tony choosing to send Bruce to his spacey-death unless The Hulk does some major damage in AOU. And it would paint their biggest star's character in a negative light.

Agreed, MCU Tony is not 616 Tony (or rather 616 Tony of the last decade). Even in the instance of his fight with Rhodey it was Rhodey betraying Tony by stealing his suit and tech and frankly elevating that situation into something even more dangerous and destructive.

From what's we've glimpsed so far in the trailer of AOU and some on set tidbits it seems that Bruce is Hulking out because of the SW's mind bending and he looks devastated in the quinjet. It would be more likley that Bruce sends himself away if he does something to hurt innocent people.

Like some, I think Banner will gone for Civil War. The question comes in, how and when does he return? I honestly can't think of a legitimate answer to that.

Unless he is exiled by Ultron somewhere on earth that he can't escape. Vibranium bunker in Wakanda maybe. Another reason for Klaw to appear in AOU.

I'm just brainstorming the absurd here.

Yeah I think it is best for Hulk/Banner to participate in Civil War. I think once you throw it Hulk the only thing keeping you from a full on Avengers film is throwing Thor in there, and it is supposed to be a Captain America film after all...

In terms of Hulk being off planet during Civil War I find that quite likely. I think considering the footage we have seen so far, Bruce Banner's Hulk is going to be a major area of conflict for the Avengers for a good part of the movie. I wouldn't be surprised if Bruce decided to eject himself into space at the end of the movie, that seems much more likely than him just going into hiding. It also sets up hulk to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, or maybe even Captain Marvel, I think Hulk in Guardians of the Galaxy would be an interesting dynamic...

Overall, I don't see Mr.Green being part of Civil War

There's Rhodey, and then there's Cap. CW is the classic betrayal of that friendship, and we're going to see it in all its ugly truth in this movie.

Yes, MCU Tony is becoming 616 Tony, like it or not. Paranoia gets the best of him, and he becomes one of those neo-fascists who sacrifices freedom for security (in other words, both the Republican *and* Democratic parties for the past 13 years). Just like he did in the comics. And he's very likely to consider Hulk too much of a threat to stay on Earth and launch him into space....just like he did in the comics.

This isn't that hard to figure out. It's canon. Civil War, Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, Fallen Son....these are the events that drove the Marvel Universe in the 2000s, under the aegis of BMB. And BMB has his fingerprints over almost everything Marvel Studios does.

If done correctly the MCU Civil War conflict shouldn't be a betrayal on either side. It's a very violent disagreement.

I don't think paranoia will drive Tony, I think it will be guilt and accountability. We've seen Tony deal with and overcome paranoia in IM3. I think his driving force and motivation in Civil War will be that he was 99% responsible for the SNAFU that was Ultron. Now he feels that he and others should be kept accountable and sides with the government in order to do so. It's a natural progression of previous movies informing and driving subsequent films.

I will say one thing to consider is while Feige said Planet Hulk is not happening, that doesn't necessarily mean Hulk is not being sent off-world.

It could be something as easy as him ending up being sent into space at the end of Age of Ultron and not being recovered until the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 or in one of the Infinity War movies.

Maybe Hulk wont even return to Earth after Ragnarok. He might just stay out in the cosmos since he can probably exist out there without being treated like a threat.

I do agree that both Hulk and Thor are much more powerful than the rest that it would make things a bit one sided - of course Vision is in that league, or close to it - so I do mind their absence. Maybe Thor 3 will at least mention that the events in Asgard prevented Thor and Hulk from showing up...
