Who woulda thunk THIS thread would die?

Not too terribly much to discuss at this point, is there? The truth is known and the people who accept that have gone their seperate ways from those who still carry delusions to the contrary.

Only when I'm being nice. Smilies are nice. I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do isn't very nice.

Okay--what could they do to redeem Doom in the next film? If there were (sigh) a Doctor Doom movie focusing on him, what would you want to have happen in it?

One word...Doombot.

Agreed. The whole metal tranformation thing could just be the decay of the organic covering of the cybernetic organism (sorry, I just saw parts of "The Terminator" on TV last night) caused by the radiation exposure. I would turn out that he wasn't transformed into a being as dense and conductive as the shielding on the space station; he was already that way, underneath, and he wasn't programmed to be aware of that.
The sequel could begin with the ship that left at the end of the first reaching its destination, the crate being transported to Doomstadt, the capital of Latveria, brought into the castle and set down and opened before Lord Doom. Then we could see the true Doom announce that his experiment was a success (I'm not sure exactly why it would be a success, but it would make for a better story if he had a long-term plan that required the apparent failure in the first movie to be a success in a grander scheme.

Honestly, that could fix everything that was wrong with Doom. Unfortunately, they will never do that.

What was wrong in Doom? Simple words.

If you really wanna know just go through this thread. It all has been discussed already.

Yes, you're right, Dandy boy.

In the movie, Doom was not THAT bad, he was just a rich and spoiled idiot.

That would be a very nice starting point to know what was wrong.

Why not?

Doom can't be THAT bad... AFTER ALL.... :O

Why would you even make a statement like that if you haven't seen the movie?

I'm with you, Herr Logan, you described my best-case-scenario for Doom's return.

Um...does it help our case to point out that Doom does not have any visible genitalia when his clothes are burned off? Robots are mass-produced, they don't need that stuff...

What's that? It's a stretch? And kind of creepy to bring up? Oh darn.
