I'll be honest. I thin Victor Domashev is not a bad change. If I was writing/making a FF movie I would use "VIctor Von Damme" like the Ultimate Universe and maybe not even use the name "Doctor Doom" kinda how Iron Monger is never really called Iron Monger (there is a reference to it).


But the actual origin change, sounds really silly. This film keeps sounding worse and worse. As I said in another thread it sounds like Trank did something similar to what Aronofsky wanted to do with Batman and completely change the characters.

It's a shame. There is a really talented cast, but they all seem miscast to me, and there is a good director/writers, but their ideas sound terrible from what is rumored.

AND if this doesnt do well, then we wont get another FF movie for a long time

Im i the only one that when they hear realistic and low sci fi, in the context of the FF, want to throw something to the screen? Why does this have to be that way? FF is like the craziest Sci Fi comic ever and you want to go all gritty with it? I respect Simon Kinberg but this is ****, he seems like doing it on purpose. As a matter of fact , those this movie even exists? the only evidence of a cast is a twitter pic, beyond that absolutely nothing.

And i dont think the actor is serious, come on, he has to be joking right? there is no way that is the origin of the greatest badass in all the marvel universe, its just unreal. I usually hate judging of criticizing before anything is shown, but in this case its just unbearable

So Dr. Doom is now called Victor Domashev, and instead of being the ruler of Latveria he's an evil hacker/programmer who uses "Doom" as a nickname on blogs. I like Toby Kebbell, but man... it seems like the filmmakers have somehow managed to achieve the gargantuan task of giving us a Doom that's even more off-base from the comics version than Julian McMahon's evil yuppie take in the last franchise. Of course there's always the chance it could turn out brilliant in the execution, but right now I'm wondering why they don't just change the title and make their own movie totally unconnected to the comics... since that seems to be what they want to do.

I wonder if they'll do a hiiiiilarious gag where the Four (they don't call themselves the Fantastic Four because that's comic booky and cheesy) finally track down the mysterious hacker Doom to his hideout... and he's a nerd in his mother's basement. And his mom comes down to the basement to tell him to stop yelling at his new friends and he's all like, "MOTHER! YOU DARE DEFY DOOM?"
