According to whom? That image very much resembles Ultimate!Doom (as well as 616!Doom).

If I saw that picture and I didn't know that it was from the Fantastic Four movie, I'd have no idea that was supposed to be doom.

The look of that pic is way to passive. The thing about Dooms mask is that it shows his aggression.

The look of Trank's doom is so weak, I can't even describe it. It looks more S&M than it does intimidating.

Two, how the heck does he expect to take on the FF in the Negative Zone where there's no tech to use.

Three, where does he get that awesome cloak!? H&M has a store in the N-Zone?

As someone on here brought up before, he looks an awful lot like SHODAN from System Shock.

Actually reminds me of that awful "Cobra Commander" mask from the first GI Joe movie.

As much of a fail as Story Doom was, at least his mask looked decent.

If I'm going to be honest ... I like the look given what this film is going for. Doom is probably the one character where I don't mind the weird body-horror angle.

Would have been nice to see a movie with the real Doom though. I still want him back with Marvel. I think Doom in his true form has the most potential.

Unfortunately there won't be a good interpretation of Doom until the rights revert back. I don't say that to start a studio war, but Fox had two shots at him, and both times they went for a UFF type interpretation.

Nah. Theres no retail store located at the N Zone. He probably got it from the wreckage of their dimension transporter.

From the leaked synopsis, he mentions the X-Men world and Galactus. He may have seen and done quite a bit during his time there - which I think is one of the coolest parts of that synopsis if true. Even in the N-Zone (or at least in the real Negative Zone) there are all kinds of civilizations. It's like its own universe. Hopefully what we see is not his face and is some kind of actual armor he has created, but I don't know why they didn't use a more traditional design if that's the case.

I'm excited for this movie, but honestly I hope this is not the final look of Doom. I just don't like it.

But at the end of the day, the most important thing for me is that they get the character right, something the Story films, while having a more accurate costume, failed to do.

WHY do we always need a "second chance" to get it right? Loki was right...Ultron was right...Red Skull was right...Winter Soldier was right on the first try...For whatever reason why do multiple F4 films feel Doom can't look like Doom right from the beginning and guess what he could! A F4 film could star with them already as the team and Doom established already as Doom, ruler of Latveria...then periodically throughout sequels hint at his background...keep him very mysterious and viola!

Loki was right...Ultron was right...Red Skull was right...Winter Soldier was right on the first try...For whatever reason why do multiple F4 films feel Doom can't look like Doom right from the beginning and guess what he could! I've been a proponent of an already established Doom from the get-go. It worked for Darth Vader, why couldn't it work for Doctor Doom? I'll admit the name does sound like something straight out of the 60's but so what?

There's this constant need at Fox to link Doom's origin to the FF's... and I blame Bendis and Millar for introducing that concept in Ultimate FF.

This is exactly my feeling. If someone searched the archives, they'd actually find me saying things like: "Okay, we didn't get the real Doom in the first movie, but there's no reason they can't turn this character into real Doom."

And there wasn't any reason they couldn't have made him better, but if the people making the movie have bad judgement now, they're not likely to suddenly improve their judgement next time around.

There's no justifiable reason that we couldn't be looking at photos of real Doom right now.

Eh whats wrong with the theyll save it (the more iconic costume) for the sequel argument... we just got that in Daredevil. Maybe that will happen too with Scarlet and Quicksilver at the end of AOU. People always expect improvements especially costumes to happe in the sequel.

I really don't hate Doom's look in this. I'm open always for interesting visual re-interpretations. Rather, I'm unhappy with what we've heard about his characterization.
