Fant4stic "I am DOOM! What MODS Dare Stand Against Me!

Eh whats wrong with the theyll save it (the more iconic costume) for the sequel argument... we just got that in Daredevil. Maybe that will happen too with Scarlet and Quicksilver at the end of AOU.
Well first off, we don't even know if there will be a sequel. Second, there's no reason to believe they would even want to "improve" Doom. Maybe in Trank's eyes, he nailed it the first time.

Also, comparing Fant4stic to Daredevil in this situation is truly comparing apples to oranges. You're comparing a movie to a tv show. We knew they were saving the red suit for later because Marvel confirmed it. Fox has never confirmed that they ever plan to make Doom more accurate to his comic book counterpart.

People always expect improvements especially costumes to happe in the sequel.
Yeah, people always expect it... but it rarely happens. Just look at the Story's Doom. Only Negative Nancies thought he wouldn't improve.

Most likely Trank loves the trash monster he created and thinks he is just more clever than anyone who disagrees

All the people here constantly saying only Marvel Studios can treat Dr. Doom with a proper treatment really confuse me. Have you guys totally missed how wasted Ronan, Baron Strucker, Whiplash, Malekith, etc have been?

Marvels biggest weakness has been their villains. Heck even Loki would join in that list if it wasn't for Hiddleston bringing more to that role than was written for him. I'm sure Marvels Doom would look more comic accurate but I need more than that. They haven't been able to make them threatening or compelling.

Already hearing same complains for Ultron too dammit. We'll see if I agree after I see it. How the heck do you ruin evil robot Whedon?
We don't know if this movie will be good but the last thing I would be saying is that Marvel would do better with Doom or any villain.

The thing about this argument about look accuracy. You have to take in note that Dr. Doom isn't the ruler of Latveria yet in the origin story, so of course he's not going to look majestic, and believe it or not everyone, even the 616 can have a hobo look in stories:

So everyone should just wait and see, like with any movie.

I'm mixed about Ultron, i didn't like how he was making so many quips.

 didn't you know Marvel is the best at everything, plus they can make as many changes to the comics as they like. But how dare anyone else do it! :woot:

Well, in this case anyway, they couldn't possibly do worse.

It's just like any movie, just as you are not waiting to show your excitement about a movie you have not seen, why is it wrong for other's to give their opinions on what they haven't seen. It's called speculation, apparently it's something that you like to do, yet can't seem to allow others to do. If there opinion of Doom thus far is not a positive one, what is that to you? You like the look....cool.

Marvel could do a lousy Doom or Marvel could do a great Doom. Fox could do a lousy Doom or Fox could do a great Doom.

But the important thing is Fox has already done two lousy Dooms and this is looking like it could be lousy Doom #3.

That's pretty bad when it comes to one of the most iconic characters in comic book history.

Apparently you were confused about us saying to stop with the Marvel vs. Fox crap as well....

Move on, no one has said that you can't have a positive, excited outlook on this movie, so give your opinion on it (the movie).

Fair enough

So, still optimistic for the film, but I think a lot of the criticisms toward are valid. IDK, I keep going back and forth, for everything I like, there's a lot I don't...

I'm in a similar situation. I don't like 80% of what I'm seeing, but I want to be able to look forward to it, so I keep telling myself that it could be better than it looks.

This new trailer gave me some hope, but I can't forget all the other things I've seen or read.

I guess in the worst case it's just a mediocre movie and I can live with that, but it's frustrating to see the potential squandered over and over again.

Side note: Looking at your sig, I hope but nothing but good luck and success with your work, from someone also trying to pursue writing.

June 2017! And ideally, the writers/director always try to give an improvement to the sequel especially if they missed something on the first one. And

That is the date they are holding, you are putting the cart before the horse there...

they have a tentative date reserved. That means nothing if they don't recoup their cost on this film. If the film flops there won't be a sequel.

The date for THIS film moved multiple times. Don't clear your schedule for a 2017 film yet. Heck, that's sound advice for every 2017 film. None of them are set in stone, many will move, and some will be cancelled. Happens every year.

There was supposed to be a sequel to Green Lantern, too. Nothing is certain.

That one didn't get a release date unlike this one. And this is Fox not Sony. Anyway, I don't think Fox would have given it a release date if they were on the fence about doing a sequel. They also hired Simon Kinberg to develop more Fantastic Four/X-Men movies. Sure they could cancel it in the future, but as of right now, its part of their current schedule.

The CBM environment has changed a lot from when Green Lantern came out, with Marvel and Warner in full swing trying to build their universe they are staking claims to release dates years in advance. As a result it is forcing everyone else to do the same in order to avoid finding all the prime release dates gone. Ultimately its just a date it costs the studios nothing, and its not set in stone, film dates move all the time.

Yeah but it doesn't mean Fox has zero intentions in making the sequel. If it gets enough profit, it would be made.

Oh definitely, they have an interest, but in the end if any of the announced films by any of the studios (Marvel, Warner or Fox) eventually get made will depend on box office performances between now and then.
