Fant4stic "I am DOOM! What MODS Dare Stand Against Me!

I guess I never read the F4 comics where Victor Von Doom was an anti social internet troll. :doom:

:hmr:

Hence...why I said "Personality wise." For all we know, he very well may be closer to Doom than previous incarnations. Again, I'm talking about his personality...not his blogger title (which I'm starting to think is not such a big part of the overall plot).

As others have said, you wouldn't take a random internet blogger and/or troll on a top secret scientific experiment/exploration to another dimension.

He didn't look like an internet troll in the second trailer and based from what we saw, he's part of the team and he's probably a scientist too.

They probably changed the blogger thing in reshoots last weekend. :o

I don't know if there's any way to tell. The armor in UFF certainly doesn't look like "organic armor" but that's what it's supposed to be.

I think the only thing we can say at this point is: "It doesn't look like Doom's traditional armor"
Seriously, guys. What the **** is going on with his mouth?

If its a mask then I think its some sort of air filter, if its not a mask then those could be the joints to allow his lips to move...

These movies cannot seem to get Dr. Doom right. In the comics he's the Darth Vader of the Marvel universe, a villain with great intelligence and regal presence. We have yet to see that in any live action Fantastic Four movie and it doesn't look like we're gonna get that here either.

When they told him to say no more about the movie, they made sure he couldn't.

I don't care for Doom's look so far (looks like a cross between Destro in GI:Joe Rise of Cobra and one of the characters from Eyes Wide Shut) but I'm hoping that's not his final look. I like Kebbell a lot as an actor, and I feel like he's a good choice for this. The "Blogger Doom" stuff worries me, but... maybe it will work in the film. The trailers have looked pretty good to me so hopefully we'll get a worthy Doom.

Bumping because we now have a good look at the awfulness that is this "Dr. Doom" design.

He kind of looks like a Crash Test Dummy from the TRON world.

He looks EXACTLY like he did in those leaked pictures sans the dark elf mask. "Not the final look", my butt.

I think the dark elf mask was basically his face. Mouth is the same, nose is the same. It just looked smoother because of the quality of the photo and taken from a distance.

If you look at this picture and squint, it looks almost identical minus the green electro stuff.

So bad.

Yup. He looks as bad as we said he would. Such a shame.

The "Dark Elf" mask was probably just a stand-in effect. Like the stuntman who walked around wearing a crude Ultron mask during AoU's production.

It's hilarious, really, because while people swore up and down that the final look would look better, it inexplicably got worse. I'd take Dark Elf Doom over this **** any day.

Now we know why they tried to hide him until the last minute.

His mouth, you guys.

What the actual ****? :funny:

I don't know about last minute. They showed Doom's face close up on the trailer that came out in April, complete with green glowly stuff. They just didn't show him without his hood. This weird "cracked open head" visual is probably before he puts on the cloak and has the Dark Elf mask. Somehow he pulls himself together, it seems.

I thought you couldn't **** up an awesome villain anymore than what they did to Shredder in BayTurtles, at least not these days.

Fantfourstic has proven me so very, very wrong.

I think you're right.

I wish I wasn't. I wish this was all just not an actual thing.

Sadness abounds.

"What should Doom look like?"
"How about a man made of cooling lava?"
"Ooh! But instead of boring old orange fissures, let's make them green!"
"Oh so like a nod to his green tunic in the comics?"
"Yeah whatever. Green lava! It's so edgy and cooooooooo!"

The dark elf/trash bag look isn't a great alternative.
Remember how cool Darth Vader looks? He was heavily influenced by Dr. Doom. Doom has the potential to be great, undeniably great, but here we are arguing the merits of this underwhelming, misguided adaption.

Does he have an NFL mouth guard glued in there?
