I'am beyond angry that the next book in the Percy Jackson series has been greenlit. The movie didn't follow the book in the slightest and they changed certain HUGE pivotal plot points that make me even wonder how they will even do the 2nd film. I so wish I could stop Fox some how from making this movie. I'm a very big fan of the books (met the author) and what they did with the movie was just insulting.

I Am Number Four didn't do as well as Percy Jackson but it had a lower budget so that balances it out a bit, FOX took awhile to greenlight Percy Jackson 2 cause they were unsure how profitable it could actually be.

I don't want this made cause of how the book was written, banking on the fact that aliens would be the new fad.

I watched this film a few days ago. It turned out to be truly good. Teresa Palmer kicked ass in this film. I think this is even better than the Roswell tv series (which was a real drag!). It would be shame if there wasn't a sequel.

I don't mind that we'll never get a sequel, but I hope everyone involved gets to move on to cooler stuff, especially the director DJ Caruso. The action and special effects really elevated the otherwise bland script. Caruso handles superhero action in the film with more energy and beauty than a lot of superhero films with bigger budgets, like GL or FF. Imagine what this guy could do with a killer script.

It's funny how 'I am Number Four' has that 'It got released in February' vibe from the get-go.

I really wish we could get a sequel, the first movie did change some stuff from the first book but all the main plot points were there. I liked the cast and the last 20 mins or so of the movie were superb, though a little scaled back compared to the book.

^Yep, havent read the book but that is a pretty obvious title! You never know, we may still get to see it, doubtful at this stage but who knows.

Pettyfer is better suited to **** like Magic Mike. Where he barely has to act.

^I thought the way the movie built upto the final confrontation was great, and then the confrontation itself was superb, it unfortunately wasnt as good or as large in scope as it was in the book, but it was done very well for the budget.

The buildup with the villains was fine. The villains were good.

But all the high school, romance, etc. stuff that took up the majority of the first 2 acts was not handled well imo

also, The Rise of 9 is supposed to come out the end of the summer. i've read all the books, including the lost lorien files. one is a back story on Six, the other is on Nine

Yeah I do agree about the stuff in the first 2 acts, but it wasn't atrocious. Man the action scenes in the 3rd act were fantastic, loved every minute.
