I Am Number Four

 next book is called the power of 6, so next movie should have more of her in it

This guy shouldn't be getting roles.

He's worse than nails on a chalkboard.

no he's not. he's better than Robert Patinson lol

Seems to be making something of a bad name for himself in Hollywood, though. It's probably just being overblown by the media, but still... if you're being handed major roles left and right despite being unproven as either a talent or a box office draw, then a little humility is a good idea. Apparently he was pissed because Timothy Olyphant allegedly made more money than him on this film.

Well f**k you, Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant SHOULD make more money than you because he's a awesome. Olyphant's presence in this movie is the ONE thing that has me mildly interested in it.

I went in with low expectations and was quite entertained. Some of the story gets slowed down by scenes that reminded me of The Twilight Saga. But there was a great payoff in the films last 30 minutes which are action and FX packed.
The villains were creepy and funny,a mix of Blue Man Group, the Romulans from 2009's Star Trek and Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter.
The film borrows a bit from Starman and Terminator, but im actually hoping it does well because im looking forward to a sequel.

Scale of 1-10 a 7½

Also, great CGI which is rare now-a-days

well first off, he's the main character in the movie, second, he had to do stunts, and 3rd...Olyphant is hardly in the movie so yea i'd be pissed too if some one got more money than me for less work.

But Olyphant has been around for longer has more roles under his belt. Kid has to pay his dues. And even if you think you deserve to be paid more you dont complain about it at the level Alex P-whatever is at.

still wanna see this. Might wait for DVD though

Petty.

His last name starts with Petty. Don't forget that. :o

Marlon Brando got paid something like $8 PER SECOND for his role in the first Superman. I don't know if that pissed Chris Reeve off, but to my knowledge, he never complained about it. And Reeve at least one a lot of critical acclaim for his performance, whereas all I've heard about this kid is that he's wooden as a tree.

Granted, I haven't seen the film, so I don't know. I guess just seeing a kid being handed the biggest break in the world and getting pissy over it kind of annoys me. I do see your point; he is the main character, but... he's an unknown. Unknowns typically don't become millionaires until they have at least one hit movie under their belts.

Anyway, the director of this film got tapped to do Preacher. What do you guys think? Is he a good choice? I liked Eagle Eye, but I don't know if something as edgy is Preacher is a good fit for him. Still, if he casts Olyphant as Jesse Custer, I am SOOOOO there.

Of course Chris Reeve didn't complain. For 1 he was all class and 2, I don't think anyone's gonna care what anyone else is getting paid if they're SUPERMAN. :woot:

Olyphant as Jesse would ****in' rock.

You know it's not about her, right? "The Power of Six" is about Number 7.

Marlon Brando was probably the most celebrated actor at the time this film was made. Why would Chris Reeve, someone who was literally grabbed off the street to be in the lead role complain about Brando's salary?

I'm not gonna give you an honest response to this because you have to know that this in no way compares to what I said. Do you know how big Brando was back then? When they got him it was like they got God himself to play Jor-El. Justified is good and all but you can't compare this guy to Brando. Just stop.

Also I heard he only got made about the pay when he found out he was locked in at a low pay for sequels. This could be the next Harry Potter or Twilight and they're gonna screw him over on future films? aw hell naw lol

you made it clear in the last days that you are a fan of this movie. i accept this and respect you.

but here it stops. the next Harry Potter and Twilight? did you read how much money it made and the reviews? this is in no way the next Twilight or HP.

and who is screwing him over future films? common sense that he will get a bigger paycheck if they make a sequel.

:woot:

dark_b nailed it.

Although like he said I respect Assassin for standing up for something he enjoyed. Reminds me of the time when I was defending Tron: Legacy and Garrett Hedlund.

So in that regard many props.

no, it was in his original contract that his pay stays the same, that's what he originally complained about. Also, Twilight is almost over (2 movies aka 1 book, and HP 1 movie 1/2 a book). not saying the quality of HP but the action is sure as hell better than Twilight and HP. They got the origin out of the way, it can only go up from here. This movie is a solid 8/10.

Twilight had **** reviews also.

Don't get me wrong, from the trailers i would have waited for free tv to watch it. I went in knowing only what I saw in 2 trailers. I had free press passes. That helps a lot having little expectations. I have press passes for Drive Angry 3D on thursday and I hate Nic Cage but it looks fun.

so what if he has in hes contract that the pay stays the same? contracts in hollywood mean nothing. contracts get destroyed every day in hollywood.

again common sense. if they make a sequel then they obvios made money. and if they made money every actor gets a bigger paycheck.

he signed the first contract when he decided to be in the movie right? you know why he did this? because hes agent knew that if they make a sequel and if the movie becomes popular that hes next paycheck will be bigger.

Great, where's my free ticket?

I wish I could help you out, but the "free ticket" people work in a different area. If they happen to have a few extra, I'll definitely let you guys know. :woot:

I am just over half way through the book now and really enjoying it, for those who have seen the movie, is it close to the book or are there some changes?

So Dreamworks guy, can you tell us if the rumors about Alex Pettyfer are true? Is he a money hungry prima donna with a bad temper who is now stalking Dianna Agron for leaving him?

jk :D
