I feel like DC still doesn't know what they're doing

Yeah well, the BvS we got had a bad story AND bad dialogue so I’d probably have rolled the dice on Goyer’s version instead of going with Terrio’s steaming pile of waste.

What? You mean to tell me you didn't appreciate the lyrical beauty of:

There was a time above... a time before. There were perfect things... diamond absolutes. But things fall, things on Earth. And what falls... is fallen. In the dream, they took me to the light. A beautiful lie.

Or that gem from Eisenlex:

Books are knowledge and knowledge is power, and I am... no. Um, no. What am I? What was I saying? The bittersweet pain among men is having knowledge with no power because... because that is paradoxical and, um... thank you for coming.

What falls is fallen, folks. What dies is dead. What lives is alive. What cries has cried?

:pal:

That reminds me of when I used to go to open mic nights in college and some beret-wearing, emo *****e would get up and read some poem that he thought was the deepest thing since A Season in Hell.

I still can't believe that made it into the final cut.

They paint these walls to hide my pen...

But the **** house poet strikes again.

And then ... ?

And then, you DIE !

" But why ? " The daughter cried.

They don't. Just like Marvel doesn't but Kevin Fiege does. They needed someone to take over the DCEU except Snyder.

Aquaman (In Post Production)
Wonder Woman 2
The Batman
Shazam

That's all they're gonna do now. Before they're done with the DCEU in this current form,.

To this day I have no idea how Terrio's script for BVS got a pass.

I guess everyone just figured "Hey he's an oscar winner" and didn't bother to question his assumed assumed genius.

I still wish that WB had stayed with Goyer (he’s a comic book guy just like Geoff Johns) and he kept the story upbeat without taking it too seriously. Had they kept Batman back for a worlds finest movie maybe MOS 3 while planting Easter eggs for him and he DC world at large and focused on WORLD BUILDING we would have a great DC movie universe now.

I feel Whedon knows how to resurrect this thing if he is given the chance. His material in the film is the most enjoyable stuff.

DC should make an announcement in the next week or so that Whedon taking the reigns for something other than Batgirl.

Agreed. And I don't think it's coincidental that DC got Bendis away from Marvel and called it a multi level contract with him right as their movies universe is sinking. He's very experienced with comic material and was on the Marvel studios creative team before it was disbanded by Disney and Feige was given full control.

I suspect Whedon is not interested, but I would love him taking on Supes, maybe even better just writing it.
I know he doesn't love all powerful characters but the challenge could be fruitful.

I also want his Batgirl though.

Then they should have sought out Mark Waid.
Give that man all the power.
Not sure he would be down for that.

The last 20 years we had a handful of live-action JL:

1997 - Justice League pilot
2007 - Smallville: Justice
2017 - Justice League movie

"I love truth...and I'm a big fan of justice."

Get outta here, Joss.

Ok, but he is well able to do better.
Besides, my ideal person to steer the franchise would be Waid.

Lines like these are why I thought the recent Reddit leaks were BS. It sounded catastrophically bad as I was reading it, but as it turns out...

Is that the new "what happens to a toad struck by lightning?"

It's going to be a LONG wait until Aquaman to see if see the DCEU still has legs after this.

After seeing JL it's amazing how no one on the creative time knows how to write for Superman. Everything about him just comes off so fake and lifeless.

Between that and Henry Day Lewis the whole character is just a walking disaster. I can't imagine there are kids in the crowd excited to see this Superman.

Cavil was so...wooden in JL. His acting and dialogue deliveries were so lifeless and dead (heh). He felt forced into the movie

That was the whole point of creating DC Films last year and making Geoff Johns the president.

Well at least he felt more like the Superman in the 1950s Adventures of Superman TV show, the 1978 Superman movie, Lois & Clark, and the TV Supergirl. Smiled, laughed, cracked jokes.

Apart from the shockingly bad CGI mouth... This is the type of Superman we should've got after MoS. He seemed happy to be Superman... Not distraught about it.
