I, Frankenstein

I believe the concept is that there are two "crime families": The vampires and the warewolfs, and they're at war. Other than that, I expect other monsters to be just small participations or references.

Now that I think about it...I'd love to see a good "monsterized" version of Yojimbo/A Fistful Of Dollars. :woot:

Bill Nighy and Socratis Otto have joined the cast. Nighy will be the main villain, a demon prince, and Otto will be his right-hand man.

I was really hoping that Dracula would be the main villain. That would be a pretty cool story to tell. I'm hoping the demon prince is him. We'll see I suppose.

Is this anything like the books its based on? I remember reading the concept for the comic and it sounded quite different to the newest synopsis.

So I take it the comic never came out?

I've mentioned this before, but I think that 'I, Frankenstein' comic was just a way to pitch a movie rather than having an actual series, just like 'Cowboys & Aliens' and 'Oblivion/Horizons'. It's impossible to find either three books anywhere.

I once listened to a podcast that stated that it's hard to pitch original spec scripts in Hollywood unless it's a remake or based on a comic book. So writers would quickly publish their idea into a comic book so they can tell the execs "Hey, it's based on a comic" during the pitch. Like Cowboys and Aliens whose book looked awful.

Meh! Not Monsterish enough, won't see this! :o

Seriously though, what is this ****? He looks like emo Aaron Eckhart with a stupid haircut. Frankenstein's monster should look more of a monster, not some male model. This is almost like that Dean Koontz's Frankenstein, where the monster was played by Vincent Perez. If only the monster had looked like that in the book. It would have been different story.

I think it's too soon to judge. He looks more like a zombie than the iconic monster but it doesn't look like a train-wreck.

well going by concept art he seems fine

Eh, not a fan of the look, like others I think he needs to look more monsterish, doesnt really look like something made up of human body parts to me, just a guy with a few scar's.

Remember this is before the film has gone through post.

There may be more CG enhancements done to him as well. But the original book, he was just a more streamlined, almost semi-attractive looking Creature.

^True, but I just thought they would bulk him up a bit and make him a bit more monsterish. Van Helsing went too far with the monster aspect but that one at least looked like he had been put together from different body parts, Eckharts one just looks like he had a bad shave one day!

i think this look is fine i dont want him to look too much like a hellboy rip off

Man, what happened to iesb.net?

Oh iesb.net...

The guy who ran the site, Robert Sanchez, cheated many of the writers out of money, and he then was later accused of sexually abusing his step-daughter. Now he's somewhere in Mexico.

So basically same old, same old.

Yeah, nobody really knows what really went down but I don't think anymore cares at this point.

So, if this movie involves demons and whatnot, is there a possibility that we'll still get to see that awesome werewolf depicted in the concept art?
