And the thing is, I've seen this more than once. Usually the chick is extremely young, and obviously is nothing more than a child themselves, but she was carrying a baby obviously no more than a toddler, and he started crying for some reason, and she yells at him, "shut the **** up!" Yeah, that can be construed to her being a tad on the "ghetto" side, but I've seen white chicks, latin chicks and black chicks all do this before in public, and it bugs me. When your kid is older and they do something dumb and obviously know better, I can understand some profanity being uttered in frustration, but come on.

Stupid trash of a woman. I would have been pretty pissed if I witnessed that.

I see it on the street while a woman shouting at a kid, I just stare do nothing....

I feel sorry for the kids who hsve to put up with that.

I've witnessed that behavior quitw a few times as well, but the mother is usually older, mid 30s and makes me even more annoyed. One time my parents and I were at a store and while paying for everything we heard a loud noise, I guess smack, a few rows down, at another cashier. I remember turning and seeing this little kid bursting into tears accompanied by screaming and his mother with her hand in the air and shouting, "Don't make me do that again, quiet!." Dead silence. I honestly don't think anyone in that area moved, not even the cashier people were scanning items. It was completely uncomfortable, and I was not even close to the lady or her kid and felt just...shock. I don't think I described that well, you had to be there. I wish I could have gone up to her and slap her as hard as she did her son, who could not have been more than 3, maybe 4.

Pfft, I've seen a guy smack his 1 1/2 year old son in front of guests at a party. People like that should either learn patience or be banned from being parents.

Same here. There's an insane amount of 'chavvy' mothers who treat their children like crap. You don't smack em, or swear at them at an early age. I hate the ones that scream back :down

Some people just need to be banned from making babies.

My cousin's mother does that all the time (not in front of other people, she pretends like she's perfect, but I know). the kid is 4 years old, has some major problems and has a moron for a mother.

That woman didn't get enough beatings as a kid.

I've got storys two share on this.
1. I was at my local comic shop late at night. When a dad, his friend, and two kids a boy and a girl came in. The kids wanted to look at the comics but the dad kept telling them if they touch anything he'd break there hands. After awhile they started to wonder around then he started to yell at them and cuss at them. After awhile he started telling people about how horrible kids are. I was just about to leave when the dad came over to me and told me never to have kids, so I responded with " Well, when I have kids I'll at least know how to raise them right." This guy gave me such a look. He was so insulted that his friend followed me to the car to make sure I woudn't return to the store.

2. I was going to wal-mart with a friend. When I was entering the story a kid was playing with a toy car and the dad told him if he keeps waveing that thing around he's going to shove it up the kids ass.

I can't believe how many people can become parents.

Oh please. I'm sitting here rolling my eyes at this thread.

Nothing annoys me more than a rotten kid kicking and screaming while the parent tries to "calmly and patiently tell them to stop" :whatever:

Alright, but its not really needed to swear at them.

Erm. Surprisingly, it does work. Ask Super Nanny :o

It's parents like that which have morphed their spawn into little anti-social bastards.

Oh, I condone spanking, I don't have any issue with that. I mean basically telling the kid to shut the **** up like they're an adult or something.

Yeah, the language was uncalled for. But the other posts saying parents shouldn't be firm with there children are ridiculous.

Yeah, it's not like kids have to be taught things,

LOL, I don't think there honestly are any black kids that didn't get spanked back in the day.

So most people in this thread are appalled when parents get violent or curse at their kids, but just stand there and do nothing? How about approaching the parent and saying something like, "Hey, I can see you're stressed but that isn't really the appropriate way to handle thing." Scare the beegeezuz out of them. It's parents like that who should be afraid social services is coming for their ass.
