My biggest concern about Deadpool Is that is its going to be a big success with a $40 million dollar budget and Fox will go crazy with the budget for the sequel.

Based on .....?

I wonder who ends up looking the worse in this situation, Trank or Fox? And what was the idea for Fox pulling out so much stuff, if it's true, like what were they trying to accomplish with this movie?

They both look bad. It's just that Trank takes the bigger hit because he's not an established director like a Spielberg or Cameron.

What Fox did is nothing new in the industry, but I'm sure anyone else they're considering to give the property to next time will pause before excepting the job.

Found this in another forum, and I think it best describes this muddled situation.

Trank got a lot of faith placed in him and a lot of pressure placed on him.
He was told that setpieces needed to come out because they were too expensive
The resultant scramble to replace content stressed him the **** out
The resultant stress caused him to act out
The acting out caused a lack of faith in him
The lack of faith and bad behavior meant he essentially had to be replaced
The people who had to replace him before the clock ran out couldn't come up with any ideas that were worth a ****
Those ideas weren't executed well because nobody still there had any faith left in the project
Those bad ideas, poorly executed, dragged down what good ideas were still there.

Josh Trank was verbally abusive toward Kate Mara according to a new update from EW. He did not want her in the movie and she was only cast because the studio insisted it.

Fox did not want Miles Teller in the movie. He was cast because Trank demanded it, the studio reluctantly agreed only if he cast Kate Mara as Sue which led to a ton of problems. Teller and Trank did not get along. Trank was also abusive toward Mara according to EW.

Well damn. That just confirmed one of the rumors we thought might be exaggerated.

Amazing how many of the negative rumors were factual. Perhaps certain people should feel a little bad about the way they put their hands over their ears and screamed at Fantastic Four fans that had legitimate concerns about the movie.

The studio admits they made a mistake in not firing Trank when all of these issues started popping up according to EW.

Its shocking how many of the rumours are turning out to be 100% true.

They cut the action scenes days before filming though. So what was the lack of faith from? He'd been on the project for over a year.

They probably increased each others bad behaviour. Who knows when it started but I think it went something like this:

Meddling by FOX leads to more erratic/confrontational behaviour.
More confrontational behaviour leads to more meddling.

Ad infinitum.

There was uncertainty about who should star. Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm was set from the start, but the studio wanted a different actor than Miles Teller for Reed Richards. Trank won that battle, even though he later developed a mutually disdainful relationship with the actor – but Fox insisted that Kate Mara be given the role of Sue Storm, and Trank treated her badly as a result. Some say he was cruel, others say merely cold. No one says they got along.

Different sources say Trank was indecisive, others say the studio was hemming and hawing on his choices. Either way, the script was not finalized until late in preproduction, and continued to change right through reshoots, which stalled crew workers who were trying to build sets, make costumes, props, and prep the movie. This created confusion and stress from the get-go that often boiled over among department heads trying to put together pieces of a movie that was still in flux. That’s not in doubt, but the question is: who was at fault?

Do you think Mara is the reason MBJ hasn't defended Trank? He seems pretty friendly with her and not in an overly fake way either.

I think Jordan's career is why he hasn't said anything, but I can see them all being a bit put off by how Trank acted. His friend or not. This isn't the first film Jordan has made with Teller either.

They are dating right?
Nah I don't think so.

Good point, we are talking about Hollywood here, he does have his career to think about.

And yet Bell's arse was the only one she wasn't touchig in that photo. Weird.

Nah, they've scurried away to the safety of the X-forums to blame us for this debacle. None of them have the backbone to admit they were wrong.
