All the actresses who didn't get put in this film should be breathing a sigh of relief. They should also think twice before they say yes, despite all the potential comfort and wealth it could bring them.

Margot and the DCEU most of all.

She's perfect in general:cwink:. Though Kate Mara is no slouch either. Hopefully the actors will all be released from their contracts and they can put the whole bad experience behind them, and move onto better projects.

No problem. I actually favorited the link so I can continue to follow the constant updates added to that story.

It's fascinating to read. At this point, it's pretty obvious: this whole film was one gigantic F-up. It sounds like Fox was too tight with the budget and had their own ideas and Trank is too hot-headed and just doesn't know how to play ball within big budget studio filmmaking.

So funny, Fox knows that they had a big hand in how the film turned out.

It happens to plenty of movies Flint Marko. X-Men 2 lost a bunch of stuff right before principal.

3 giant action set pieces worth of stuff? That is apparently what was excised from the FF, a movie that Fox was rumored to be unhappy with because of the "lack of action" if I remember correctly. There are also numerous mentions of Fox stalling and waiting until the last minute to make decisions, delaying production.
I'm not saying this all is unprecedented but given everything we know, Fox definitely had a hand in driving this franchise into the ground.

i'm curious to know, what sort of financial gymnastics it would take to get f4 back into marvel's hands. i have no idea what the rights situation is like, but a number figure regarding fox's price would put it into context for my brain.

Is it sad that I almost want purchase the 2005 & 2007 films again; just so I can have Fantastic Four to watch again?

I feel that we'll never see a great rendition of the Fan4 on screen any time soon.

Again, the trouble is Constantin Films owns the IP for Fan4 with Fox(they're the co-producing/financer of the films).

And I doubt Marvel would buy the rights back. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they're simply returned to Marvel (i.e. Blade & Ghost Rider).

Am I correct that members of the cast have not distanced themselves from the film with tweets like Tranks since its release?
I cannot find anything to indicate that they did.

Or just watch the Incredibles.

It's amazing the similarities this production has to another troubled film back in the 90's, The Island of Dr. Moreau. Promising young director with limited big budget experience losing control of a production to be replaced and the film was completely changed by the studio and the results were a flop. Theres a documentary about it called Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau and its on Netflix. Check it out, its entertaining.

Umm, yes.

1. Danger Room. The Danger Room was supposed to be in the first scene. Designs and artwork was done. For X-Men 2, they built a set, they wrote the scene, they story boarded it, it was even pre-viz'ed! As a result of losing the Danger Room, they replaced it with Iceman's scene with Wolverine.
2. Nightcrawler vs. Toad. There was supposed to be a Nightcrawler vs. Toad fight in Stryker's base. Remember how Nightcrawler doesn't get to do very much in acts 2 and 3? He was actually supposed to get a fight scene against Toad. It didn't happen. Again, a set was built, it was written and boarded out. Never filmed. Guess they didn't want to use the option to use Ray Park and bring him back.
3. The Sentinels. The Sentinels were originally going to appear in the film as well. They were designed and conceptualized for the film too.

The Wrap is reporting that Box Office analysts say that Trank's tweet cost the film 10 million dollars .

LOL, seriously? I don't buy that for a second. I don't believe for a second that without the tweet the film makes $37 million and beats MI5 this weekend.

Al he cared about was feeding into the notion of a very few gullible and contrarian people that he made a good movie.
That idiotic tweet cost him jobs and what was left of his reputation and it was his last kick in the crotch to fans of claasic FF by cementing the myth of the Trank cut that we will have hear being cried about for years to come.
