I agree. If Marvel can get this sort of deal for X-Men along with FF, then they should definitely go ahead with it. I'm just not sure Fox would be willing to do that.
I'm not so sure. Marvel was willing to work with Sony on the Spidey deal because a) they had a strong incentive to protect their most popular and profitable character and b) Spidey is still a huge BO draw and should provide a big boost to Civil War.
What incentive does Marvel have to cut a similar arrangement with FOX regarding the X-Men? The X-Men don't move merchandise, even during the time that Marvel was pushing it. And the X-Men franchise is frighteningly short of BO draws. With Jackman retiring, Tatum's Gambit an unlikely draw and the recast X-Men kids unproven I don't see how crossovers benefit Marvel in the slightest.
Unless they work out a co-financing arrangement by which Marvel can benefit from the enhanced X-Men franchise, I don't see Marvel agreeing to a Spidey type of arrangement for the X-Men.
