I was just assaulted twice in a week's time

Are you a small guy? Best advice for you is make eye contact and carry a stun gun. That's it.

The first incident, he was gone by the time I got up. Second time, I was outnumbered by three drunk man who were all bigger than me.

Cincinnati, OH.

I'll die first :csad:.

Ah, NO wonder. I've lived in Ohio before and all I can say is it was the worst place I have ever lived. Ohio = Crap.

Walk around with a massive blade. No one will think about going near you. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Jesus boom, that sucks, the first guy wasn't armed..you hit him and you hit hard.. he will not be expecting it.

nobody pushes you around..certainly not cowards like that man.

Bring a knife ;)

Seriously; dont be afraid to get in their face but know when to back down. You made the right moves both times.

Some situations are very hard to avoid and the best you can do is contain them, and thats how these 2 sound.

You seem to be a walking punching bag, you need to look more menacing.

I was under the misguided impression that that would provoke a confrontation. Apparently not.

Thats what i used to think, when you make eye contact you show your not scared to look them down, when you don't, it shows you somewhat afraid, than they can take advantage of it.

just give mean dirty looks and most likely nothing will happen to you.

Just start beating your chest and flinging your feces at them.....kill two birds with one stone....

Boom, I hope you're feeling better and weren't too badly banged up.

Night time is the most difficult time to travel, and travelling alone is never recommended. When you are travelling alone, there are a few things you can do to protect yourself.

1. Hold your keys in your hand, making a fist out of your hand with the sharp edges of the keys pointing out from your knuckles. Your own set of temporary wolverine claws. Use them if necessary.
2. Don't make eye contact until you know that they are advancing towards you. Then carefully back up against a solid object and stare them down. The solid object protects your back, while you've got your fist of keys to protect your front.
3. Prepare to kick or dodge. Crouch a little bit, it'll give punches an extra ooomph too when you come out of the crouch.

I see you took the "How to fend off a Rapist" class!

First, sorry to hear it, but these things definitely happen

Second, who taught you NOT to make eye contact?

Third, Punch that person for each time you got hit

Lastly, follow Jack Rabbit's/Redmarvel's advice

You bet. I live in a big city. I have had to travel at night for the sake of some of my jobs... I haven't had a problem yet. *knock on wood*

Glad to hear it. Smart thing to do. I need to get my sis into a class like that.

Community centres often have them. Ask at the local Police Department, they often send out speakers to them.

Next time I see you in the park after dark you BETTER have some money! :cmad:

jag

What I usually do with guys that look intimidating is make very short eye contact. And I don't move for them. I continue as normal.

I've learned through being bulled as a kid, getting beat up at 14, and various heckiling and what not throughout my life, more often than not guys won't try it with you if you don't look like you are phased by them. Avoiding eye contact, moving away from them, it suggests you are afraid.

But maybe I'm wrong.

Count your lucky stars you weren't "sexually" assaulted twice in a week's time.....

I was in two car accidents in a week's time, and for the first time. But not of my doing, I was the passenger in both.
