When you've been here as long as some of us, you would be amazed how people like this try to convince people of something. Then banned later on. So no, it does not make us "dense". This has happened millions of times before, and some going unchecked, they continue to build upon it making it worse. Then stupid rumors fly, and spread on the internet like a virus. It's best to stomp them out quickly no matter how stupid they may sound.

Right, because common sense has everything to do with how long I've frequented the SHH boards. Think about how silly that sounds. I read his post, it was clearly a guy trying to have some fun, as the story was utterly ridiculous, and even somewhat comical. That's where my "dense" comment came from, as I can't believe anyone actually took that post seriously. Sometimes I just have to roll my eyes.

After that post he clearly seemed that way. But this is the thing. Posts exactly like that in the past on this forum, have actually grown into horrible misconceptions. There were fan minips made of the Joker on this site of Conrad from The Man Who Laughs (1928) some one put green hair on him, and the next thing you know there were CNN clips and I think The Today Show that had that minip.

Some people on the Internet will believe ANYTHING. That is why some post clearly ridiculous posts. The thing is it was clear that Custer was not telling the truth. But the fact of the matter is, he very well may have been trying to tell a joke. Or like many have on this site in the past, try to actually gain credibility and get some people to believe it even if just a few. Then sadly enough it escalates then you hear stupid rumors. When Heath died, oh my god were there some stupid rumors that started from forums like these, and people still believe them.

My point is that yea it was clearly obvious this was fake, but I have no idea of his intentions. Like in the past if people would have started to believe him, he would have continued to "create" his story and in a sense "troll" which people have been banned for this. If I would have actually taken the post seriously...I would have believed him, which many have done before. I clearly did take a humorous jab at first, if you actually looked at my post after his, I made a sarcastic remark about it. Then later explaining how obvious it was. So I don't get how you think we took it "seriously" Why did I not find it funny? Because many people have actually done this for years on these forums. And it never ends good. And sometimes hearing stupid rumors start to turn into facts that were purely speculation just add more crap to Internet that may not need to be there.

Did I find it funny? To a point, that is why I was joking with him sarcastically. But then I made my point why to shoot it down, and be careful of this kind of rumor spreading because it can get people in trouble.

So sorry if we are not seeing eye to eye on this. I never said you could not get a chuckle. But sadly in the past people have believed such clearly "fake" things that start battles on these sites. It's best not even to let them come up as such, cuz there will be enough rumors in the future that will float around. The ones that surrounded BB and TDK around here were plenty.

Cool that you found it funny, cuz in a way looking at my replies and my first response, so did I. But then I think we got on another page after this because I then took a serious turn to how this can be a bad thing. But again, sometimes it is hard to determine "joking around" on the Internet. Because sometimes people really do post some very.....lets just say bad things. Sometimes it is clear that is one is joking. But I have seen posts just like this before that were not meant to be funny to anyone but the poster themselves. People love rumors and want to believe them so some will stretch out and do so. By his first post and the experience just from the SM2 hype BB and TDK hype I've seen these kind of posts before and as I said it ended badly. That is a flaw of it, I've seen fights and bannings take place from clear misunderstandings. After his first post (that and I don't know this poster hardly at all) it was clear he was joking. But at first....no I could not tell cuz I don't know him nor his intentions. If it were Captain Clown saying it in here, I would know he was joking. But after his first post again I say yea its clear he is joking around to me. It does not mean I'm "dense" for not getting his joke, I may be more iffy especially newer posters that I really have not conversed with yet, when they post stuff like this.

Sorry that I had to be serious about this for a moment but I had my reasons. And since that serious post I've been jesting. So I don't see the problem.

And what I mean by being here longer, is you see this stuff in cycles, it happens a lot around here and just can end badly.

I mean no harm to Custer as you can tell, I've taken his posts now with jest.

So enough of this. Back on topic. You want to talk to me about it, let's PM each other. Cuz I don't want a misunderstanding between us or harsh feelings between us.

I'm ****ing excited that a script exists. I always knew that they were working on one when Nolan was doing Inception anyway. My guess in late 2008 when Nolan said they had "musings" on the story, they did indeed come up with a story and Goyer and J Nol started working on it and have been until they handed it in. Now when Inception nears we could get an offical announcement or perhaps at the summit.

Agreed. Looks like the budget and scope of the Batman films combined with the storytelling of Memento/Following/Prestige. Let's face it, his Batman movies are very entertaining but they are still based on archetypes and still operate within certain rules of the superhero genre. His other movies focus more on strong character development, interesting plot twists, and so forth.

I'm talking about the kind of archetypes where you know what's going to happen when it's all said and done. Batman will not die. The villain will not outright win (such as in Following where the protagonist ends up in jail).

We’ve got to be living in an alternate reality like J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek - minus the starships and Karl Urban’s Bones McCoy. When did Warner Brothers suddenly get their crap together? In the last couple of weeks (particularly 48 hours) has come an onslaught of info regarding their plans for Superman, Batman, The Flash and so on.

Now we’re privy to information, but will mostly opt to keep our mouths shut. You just can’t run with everything you hear. Our good pals from other movie-news sites will tell ya the same. Some info turns out to be legit, some crap and everything else in between. And there’s stuff like Christopher Nolan producing the Superman reboot while prepping to direct Batman 3. Yeah, we heard that. But thought it was too crazy to be true. Cut to: it being fact.

It’s with that in mind we thought we’d spill the beans on some recent unconfirmed (that is the key word here, boys and girls) rumors. Again it’s too crazy to be true. Or is it?

OK. So we know David Goyer and Jonah Nolan are writing The Man of Steel and Batman 3. We’re hearing outta Burbank a key reason behind Chris’ "Godfather" role is to help out li’l brother Jonah. "Why’s that?" you ask. Because latest rumblings peg him to sit in the director’s chair for the Superman reboot.

This, of course, would mark his directorial debut after working with his brother on three Batman films, The Prestige and not to mention his (ultimately un-credited) stint on Terminator: Salvation and writing Interstellar for Steven Spielberg. Jonah’s a solid writer, for sure. But making your first feature a no-doubt $200 million+ blockbuster tentpole with the intention of sequels down the line? Of course, this could just be a part of somebody’s wish list – maybe the studio or maybe "Godfather" Nolan.

How about Chris himself? Sure, he’s helming Batman 3. But most of us assumed he was going to call it a day after the third installment. The whispers in our ear (again unconfirmed!) say Chris will shepherd his Batman and the next cinematic Superman (and presumably Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern, The Flash and others) towards a Justice League movie. That he will direct after The Man of Steel and Batman 3 are released. We’re talking one big monopoly or more appropriately Nolanopoly.

"That’s too crazy to be true!" On the surface, we’d normally agree. But so far, nothing going on with the Brothers Warner and DC Entertainment fit what one would immediately expect. I say that as a good thing. Whatever the outcome of this latest updates (gospel or garbage), it’s good to see DC is finally catching up with Marvel in the blockbuster-movies department!

IF true, Nolan's Batman suddenly co-exists with Green Lantern, the new Superman, etc. And it's all heading towards a Justice League film, where the Batman included is Nolanverse Batman. DO. NOT. WANT. I hope this is untrue rumors. Nolan himself said his Batman stands alone. I hope WB didn't just change Nolan's mind for him.

That would be terrible. This Batman is just too good to risk being piled in with all the Justice League. I don't even like the idea of Batman and Superman being in the same sentence never mind universe.

However I would be fairly interested in Jonathan Nolan directing Superman, as long as Batman and Gotham aren't mentioned in it.

Ditto. This batman is too grounded in reality to be taken seriously in a JL movie.
