One poster upthread suggested that more people have seen SV than SR. At this point - given the fact the show is now entering its seventh year in the public eye - I have to agree.
It doesn't mean it will have the same effect on the movie thought. Movie & tv rating are different. Beside, you said that poster suggested it. That is just that poster's opinion & what that he/she think. Not to mention tv show that run for 7 seasons tell more stories compare to one movie, which doesn't count. IMO, of course.
It's all a matter of preference, but I believe both Reeve *and* Routh were models before becoming actors. Just sayin'.
Yeah, but Welling has more of a supermodel look than those guys. Not Superman material there.

And I never heard Reeve was a model too. I only know he did training at Julliard(sp?) before he did acting & that it. No mention of him modeling. Interesting thought. I wonder if George Reeves & Kirk Alyn were model too. Heh!
Has Denise Richards ever played Diana Prince? Does she have a legion of fans behind her who see her *as* Wonder Woman? 'Cause if she does, Warners might want to consider her. Popularity lists like
these are hard for Warner Bros. to ignore. It's easy money, and it goes directly into their pockets. Hollywood is a business after all. That doesn't make it "right," but it is what it is.
But the problem is, people want someone because they are popular. I prefer someone to play a role where they can act, not look alone. Reeve is a perfect example of that. Many fans boycott & were hellbent when he was picked to play Supes, since he wasn't popular & not a big name.
And yes it can get them money, but not in a good way with bad acting. That what I'm concern when it come to Hollywood. I wish people look at acting, not just look with bad acting. In the old days, people were cast for their acting & not look first. *sigh*
Warner's rumored approach with JL is to give fans what they've been asking for: more action, more eye candy, fealty to the comics, and a popular cast. I'm keeping an open mind they'll be able to deliver the goods, because it's a win win situation if they can. Pleasing the general public with a popular film WILL make them a lot of coin.
I agree. I expect JLA to have plenty of action, which I love. But I want good story too, otherwise it will be like "Batman & Robin". They should use both some big names & unknown.
I'd say yes, if not just a SV fan. But I don't think Warners will lose much coin from people not wanting to see the pic because of who *isn't* cast, though they might lose business based on who IS.
Who know. Time will tell on this. Even if it Routh or Welling, I think business will be about the same. Seeing as it JLA & deal with other heroes beside Supes. But hey, I just want Routh. Thought I will give someone else a chance if it isn't Routh. After all, I'm a fan of Supes & will see him onscreen....again.
I've seen a few people here say they wouldn't bother if Welling were cast as Supes, and I personally have no interest in seeing the pic if Routh is cast, so it's going to be an interesting day when the casting IS announced.
But why if Welling isn't cast, you won't see it? Any Superman fans will see it as long it not some guy who can't act at all. Honestly, I think you should see JLA, even if both Routh or Welling aren't in it. That what Superman fan do, right? Support seeing their hero. I'm not trying to change your opinion or force you to see it if Welling isn't in it at all. I think it just fair any Supes fan to give it a chance no matter who is in the role. Just as long they do their job.
Have you been to BOF? LOL
Yep. I check it daily, since I'm a huge fan of Batman as the site. I been checking since it was born around 1998. Boy, I have no life there.
