Gambit8370 said:I don't think that Stan Lee & friends EVER did what they did for the $$$ MONEY $$$.
Stan did it for the FANS and he did it because he truly loved the characters like a FAN would.
I've seen sparks of the spirit that Stan and friends had in the early days coming out of a few creators in comics these days.
I just don't see it in the current EIC.
Joe's become a figure head, a talking head, a puppet for the board of directors, the investors, and the licencing partners.
Marvel needs someone in charge who cares about these characters, not making the quick buck.
"Running a multi-million dollar corporation" means more than the "day-to-day."
It also means sharing a rapport with the customer.
All that I've seen Marvel do in the last few years is create a wider void between what they are publishing now and what Stan made then.
Hell. They've ENDED more classic titles and disassembled more iconic characters.
You want to impress me, Joe?
Create something.
Create something original.
Create something original that will last for 40 years.
Till then...
You're nothing to me but another dead vampire.
(sorry, I got Blade I playing in the background).
Sucking the blood life out of something that you have no right to.
You want to KILL something?
Then give LIFE to something.
You want to END something?
Then BEGIN something.
Is that so friggin much for a fan to ask???
Im glad you got that off your chest. Im sure when Stan does those cameos in the Fantastic Four movies its not at all about the money. Im sure he worked fro free as a writer and when he was EIC. C'mon Gambit. Im always with you but Marvel is as good as it has been in years.
