Accept his hand? He did say he'd only ask once. Or, is Pete leaving his shield behind for him a sign he'll change alliegances?

And if Pete switches, does this mean dinner with the Richards is OUT?

If Peter leaves Cap will be a little nervous seeing how he was Ironmans right hand.. but he'll allow because he knows parker isn't able to be a Two timer

Cap will be like "You are a stupid mother****er. You never wanted the world to know because you and your family would be in constant danger with no break from lawsiuts and violence....but because Iron Man and a law you don't like [and we all know how Spidey listens to the law down to the tee] you're just a rebel that has everyone and their grandmother trying to kill you."

Spidey: "Yep, that's about the size of it then."

My god, you have an advance copy?? ;)

I think Pete may be screwed on both sides. He switches sides and people won't trust him because he was on the pro-registration side and may think him a mole trying to destroy them from the inside and the people on the pro-reg side will try to take him down for being a turncoat and being in violation of the act. That will bring him back to his "outsider with no one trusting him" roots that JQ always talks about.

And yeah, I think dinner with the FF would be out. ;)

Honestly, I see Spidey being stuck between both sides. Spidey switching sides would be cool, but if neither side trusts him because he leaves the pro-registration side, then he's stranded in a no man's land. It'll be Spdiey for himself, with no one to watch his back. I could see Spidey fighting for his life against a slew of villians while the heroes fight each other, and the heores finally realize, as their former friend is fighting against impossible odds, that they've forgotten what a heo really is.

That's just where I would go with it.

Im starting to think that when he switches sides he wont be trusted but then in typical cliche form he will save the day somehow near the end

I quite like that idea actually.

Well, we all know that the heroes will all eventually hav eto get along to some degree, this would be the most logical scenario. I mean, sure, they should fight, but for them to see what they're doing throught the eyes of one of their own (the everyman), that is where the drama is.

This is a fine idea. In fact, it's more than fine. I really like it. It would add that special Joss Whedon touch if before they came to their senses, MJ or Aunt May were killed. Then he'd be like "Wow, thanks so much for coming to help. Yeah, you really know your priorities and responsibilities. **** off!"

Yup. It's going to take the death caused as a direct result of the heroes NOT being there befor ethey snap out of it.

seriously, if Spidey said that I'd laugh my ass off at the irony and hypocrisy.

Maybe Spider-Man won't switch sides. Maybe he'll disown Tony after he finds out he's been up to some shady poo poo. But maybe Spider-Man will just be out for himself and his family...which is basically what seems like is going to happen to him after a while.

Especially now that Norman Osborn is out of jail and Green Goblin'ed out.

That's exactly what I want to happen. I'd rather see Spider-man not be on any of the sides. First off, I don't think that Cap would even take him on his team at this point. Second, him being "on his own" is always how it's been anyway. From the looks of it it's going to just be Peter, MJ and Aunt May on there own because we all know the much awaited Iron Man beat down at the hands of Spider-man is coming soon.

Aloha,
I like it.
Spidey rules

Spidey's pretty much screwed the pooch on this one. On one hand, if he defects, the pro registration side will hate him, and he will be branded a traitor by the general public. On the other hand, the Anti registration side probably has zero respect for the guy after all the **** he's pulled. Cage and Falcon have both called him a sellout on occasion, I think even Cap has had enough of Parker's stupidity. And while Pete would be a massive asset on either side (He's no Thor by any means though) I'm feeling like Shinyle is, that he ain't going to either pool. The guy's pretty much burnt bridges on both sides, and is now hated by the public, and distrusted by the super-human population, (back to sqaure one eh?).

If Spidey hadn't been written like the biggest puppet, over the last few months I might feel sympathy for him, for when the walls inevitably come tumbling down. Unfortunatly the writting and the character have gotten to the point, where I just wanna see him get F'ed up by a mile long line of villians. From ASM 38's Just Joe. Allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way to the Green Goblin (The Sinister Six Hundred )

My guess is he'll quit the pro-regs, be disgraced by the anti-regs and then it's just him, his family and half a million people who want him dead. They'll probably use this as a chance to kill Aunt May and for Spidey to end the Civil War in a rage at what they have brought upon themselves and left him and his family to die....or MJ, but if joey Q does that he is REALLY stupid. Just my guess though.

I see something like this happening as well.

He didn't get beat down by Cap. They didn't even get to finish their fight.

WOW! I'd never thought I'd see the day when SIAT and Shinlyle would actually agree on something. :)

Seriously, though, it would be great if that's what ended up happening to Spider-Tool as a result of Civil War. It could also be possible that, even though he'll leave Iron Man's group of enforcers, essentially, the law can't touch him because, after all, he's registered making him a "lone operator" that nobody wants to work with.

Another possibility I can see is that, if Captain America ends up getting captured, and Spider-Tool realizes he's been on the wrong side all along, (most likely after discovering Tony bugged his suit and starts learning about Iron Man's schemes) that he'll try to break Cap out of prision to show he's on his side. Unfortunately, while Cap appreciates it, the other "Secret Avengers" resent Spider-Tool due to his past actions, and how do they not know he's a plant etc. Spider-Tool then tells them "Fine! If you don't want my help, then so long. I'm off to be a real hero." Then he, at last, ditches the Iron Spidey costume and at last "reclaims his title" as SPIDER-MAN. But, thanks to his breaking Cap out, he's now a fugative from justice...at least for awhile. After that comes the matter of how in the world Peter can restore his secret identity?

We've agreed on a few things before.
