If the shredder does come back...

I'm sorry if this is kind of random, but can anyone tell me the name of the TMNT animated episode where Donatello goes back in time? The episode was a very emotional, dark, and violent one that has received great reviews from fans of TMNT.

The reason I ask is because it could be a cool storyline to incorporate into a film and maybe they could add Shredder into the mix? Maybe Super Shredder or Shredder in general takes over the world, has it become a desolate wasteland, and the film could have the Turtles seperated again only to come back one final time to make their stand.

I would love to see The Shredder come back though.

The Episode you're looking for is called "Same As It Never Was".

no super shredder...
as far as i'm concerned there was only one other Ninja Turtles movie...
... and that was the first TMNT movie. The only turtles movie which takes the source material with some degree of respect...

the 2 other movies (part 2 & 3) were pure commercial garbage

and yes, i must agree....
the "super shredder" concept (of part 2) was dumb

indeed i agree

well in the comics shredder died in the first issue and came back a few times a clones made from worms and raph was shredder for a bit also

wouldn't he still be the super shredder?

Yes, that's why I feel "What's the point?" I think it'd be better if Karai became Shredder and fooled our fearsome foursome like in the new series. I mean Shredder was crushed by a whole dock and if he came back he'd still be Super-Shredder due to drinking down the last vile of mutagen. That's why I think we're better off getting Baxter in, or the Triceratons, or Krang and Dimension X in. Hell, I'd love to see Rat King or Slash if possible too.

I just find if you keep bringing a existing character back that they eventually start overdoing their welcome---Lex Luthor anyone?

Normally, I would tend to agree with you NinjaTurtleFan, but The Shredder possibly returning for a future sequel *keeping fingers crossed* wouldnt necessarily mean he would return as the underwhelming Super Shredder that was last seen in, "TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze". As it's been stated before, "TMNT" essentially used the previous Turtle films in a "vague" history much like "Superman Returns" and the Superman films starring Chris Reeve. If Laird, and Munroe decide not to acknowledge that there ever was a Super Shredder (which I think is a very safe bet to be perfectly honest) then there really isnt any reason why they should be forced to considering the realm of vague continuity that "TMNT" itself was placed in.

Sure, I wouldnt mind seeing The Rat King, The Triceratons, Baxter Stockman, or Karai disguised as The Shredder appear. All of them should be visually interesting to not only The Turtles target audience, as well as casual fans, however it also wouldnt be wise to not heed the demand for The Shredder to return to the series. And given that Munroe has stated in interviews that he would love to incorporate Shredhead, I say let's see what they can come up with if the sequel is ultimately given the greenlight.

Would you guys really want an hour and a half of Super Shredder? That be horrid. While I did like the second movie{I was 5 when I first saw it and the nostalgia gets me all the time.}Still I wouldn't want Super Shredder in the next movie.I want classic Shredder.Maybe they can incorporate another villain like Baxter or something.Bu I want some classic Sherdhead.

Bebot...or Bebop?

And...I heard that, TMNT loosely follows the events of 2 and 3...but it does come right after 1...so, in TMNT-verse, Shredder "died" as Shredder, not as Super Shredder.
Huh?
What?!
What about all the items Splinter had collected form there adventures from the past 3 films?

There is an easy solution to Super Shredder. Some of the ice cubes from the end on TMNTII fell into the water and SS drank it thus reversing the effects of the ooze. :ninja:

If the shredder does come back... There's no need to explain whether or not he's still Super Shredder... although the movie does intend to fit into the continuity of the first movies, it's not a direct sequel... as can be easily seen... someone else mentioned that Splinter's ear was not chopped off. Although it does ruin continuity a bit... there's really no need to follow everything directly... especially after fifteen years between the two movies. Besides, if he comes back, I don't think anyone wants to see Super Shredder, that was part of what was associated with the gayness of Secret of the Ooze.

When Shredder doesn't return as Super Shredder, they could easily explain it that the Foot Clan Scientists reversed the process.

i wanna see Krang and Bebot & Rocksteady dammit!

Will never happen to my knowledge. As far as I know Imagi or whatever the company is called owns the rights to the comics and not to the 80's cartoon series. Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang were properties created for the cartoon only and not for the comics. I suppose Imagi could go out and buy the rights from CBS or whoever owns them, but that would be a confusing movie. Is it based on the comics? The 2003 cartoon? The 80's cartoon?

Yeah, but if his mutation worn off then so wouldn't Splinter's and the Turtles'?

No, Shredders ooze was unstable and the scientist (who I always thought should have been Baxter Stockman) messed around with it.

Excellent point. He does mention that he contaminated it to make Tokka and Rhazar less dangerous. So, yeah I suppose it would be possible to have the mutation undone.

PS Not Baxter Stockman, but an Utrom would have made perfect sense.

No. Bebop & Rocksteady, Krang, Tokka & Rahzar, etc... never appeared in the comics.

Yes I know...I was making that point to someone else. I was saying a TMNT sequel with Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang would be confusing because is it based on the 80's cartoon? Is it based on the comics? See what I mean?

Interesting fact even I didn't know about until recently is that Tokka and Rhazar appeared in the original cartoon.

^^ Not quite sure I follow you... but that's okay... on the Tokka & Rahzar comment... I was actually just reading that on Wikipedia... I would like to see that episode... anybody have a link?? (or are we not aloud to post that stuff with these strict-a$$ forum rules)

I spelled "allowed" wrong... I feel like an idiot.

Now, I made a second post to point out my error instead of just editing the original... I feel even dumber.

Okay... I'll leave now

I guess what I am trying to say is that if you make a TMNT movie with Krang and the mutants, is it a movie that is based off of the cartoon or is it a movie based off of the comics like the previous films.

They could have the original Shredder come back under the guise and story line of the worms that re-generate the body through DNA technologies, etc. and he would be just like the original Shredder. But creepier, cause we know he was dead at one point.

I just watched the old two movies again recently and realized, the turtles never official defeated shredder. The first one splinter defeated him, and then in the second one, shredder kinda killed himself because of his own stupidity. I can see them bringing him back.

The ooze super-powered his suit and armour...HAHAHA, i forgot about that.

I don't think it was because of stupidity as you say. I mean, Shredder got turned into a 7ft mutated Kevin Nash! Who could blame him for being suicidal? :woot:

That's apart of the genius that is, TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze. ;)
