^ That reminds me of a clip I recently watched with HBK, DDP, Booker T and Drew McIntyre. It was at one of those Raw roulette shows. DDP is promoting a WCW DVD (Best of Nitro?) and in walks Drew McIntyre calling Booker T and DDP has beens. Enter HBK into the frame by superkicking McIntyre, HBK then goes on to make a sarcastic comment about how he's sure that The Best of Nitro is a great watch.

It just amazes me really, even though the guy is trying to make money off of it, Vince still can't help but get a dig in at WCW.

Lilian Garcia messed up Zack Ryder's entrance last night at the Smackdown tapings in Newark, NJ. She announced Zack Ryder as "Long Island Iced Z" Jack Swagger.

This led to John Cena bringing out ring announcer Tony Chimel, who Garcia replaced, and Zack Ryder for the dark main event cage match. Cena said he was bringing someone who is a professional. Chimel began to introduce Ryder but they ribbed Chimel by cutting his mic out. Finally, Cena did the correct introduction for Ryder. The whole bit was reportedly done to embarrass Lilian Garcia.

I'm surprised and disappointed to see Cena get involved with this crap. :down

Rumours going around that the main events for WrestleMania 29 are going to focus on/be based around The Rock, John Cena, The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Cena should beat them all clean in a gauntlet match to end the show. I hope for this just to see the internet explode lol

I'm not too bothered about the others, but I'd love to see Austin wrestle again.

Honestly to me the only guy from the 4 I think should be in the main plans is Cena because he's an active roster member, the WWE will never move forward if every Mania they rely on one off nostalgia act matches IMO.

I understand that. Seeing Austin wrestle again is really just a personal want/luxury for me, is all. Probably similar to how I'd presume you'd feel about seeing Shawn wrestle again. :)

I like it. It'll probably be Cena vs Rock again, Taker's last match (probably going 20-1), and Stone Cold is always fun.

Actually no to be honest, I think Shawn went out at the right time against the right guy, to come back now would cheapen that. Same as I think Austin's last match being against Rock and them pulling it off despite how busted up Austin was, was a fitting ending. Austin wrestling 10 years later to me just doesn't spell good things for a legacy that ended on a great match. Both men went out before they got to the point of living off their name, and both went out facing an iconic opponent.

During a recent interview conducted for the Hot Clicks Podcast on SportsIllustrated.com, WWE star John Cena hyped his match against The Rock at WrestleMania 28, and had the following to say concerning the real life problems he has with Dwayne Johnson:
I disagree with the way he does business...I congratulate him on all his success. He's had a Hall of Fame resume in WWE. His movies have grossed over $1 billion worldwide. But if was my career path, I would have done it differently...I disagree with some of the decisions he made.
All that time being gone, and the total process he took to try to reinvent himself. I can show you magazine covers that say 'The Rock is Dead,' or ringside interviews where he's said, 'I'll never go back to wrestling.' Just talking bad about the vehicle that got you to the dance, and then when the dust settles wanting to come back to the dance.

That's a fair point, I actually agree with those comments. I think, for me I probably feel the need to want to see a bit more Austin is because as I came into it really during the 'Attitude' Era, I feel as though I missed out on a lot of the classic anti-hero Austin due to him going out for surgery in late 99 to late 2000, arguably when the WWE was at it's true peak, and then returning to play arguably the most hated guy around. I never really cared for that heel run at all, especially him leading the alliance. It just didn't sit right or make sense to me.

I think he needs to consider that a lot of those anti-wrestling comments from The Rock probably came out after Vince and Funkhouser seemingly burned him with the contract issue.

Stone Cold vs punk

Then your left with a mix of Triple h, Rock, Taker, Cena.

You didn't see 97 and 98 Austin? That was probably my favourite period he was in. The thing is his body had given up on him by 2003, both knees were shot and he had a bad neck making it hard for him to do moves, it's not like The Rock who was a natural athlete and pretty injury free, coming back after 7 years and still being able to deliver up to the standards he had set himself.

Nope, unfortunately. I keep kicking myself for not starting to watch it earlier than I did. Even so, the main reason I only really got interested was due To Austin, after listening to my friends banging on about him for so long, and then eventually finally seeing what all the fuss was about for myself.

I agree with what you're saying, and ideally I agree with what you're saying regarding both he and Shawn going out at the right time and at the right moment and surroundings. It's just that nostalgic part of me that automatically jumps at the mere mention and/or chance of seeing Austin wrestle again, though most likely in hindisght, even I'd probably agree it's not the best move anymore.

You'd better tell Punk your concerns too. :oldrazz:

http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/251769-cena-wants-to-re-design-the-wwe-title-praises-young-talent

During a recent interview conducted for Mix106.1 in Philadelphia, John Cena discussed several topics, including who he'd most like to wrestle right now other than The Rock, who he feels are the brightest young talents in WWE right now, and more. When the topic of the WWE Spinner Belt came up, Cena noted that it's the most purchased belt in WWE history, but also said the following:
“Being the guy who truly invented it, it needs to change. It has been the way it’s been for years now. It’s had it’s run. It doesn’t even spin anymore. It’s heavy. It’s awkward. It really is. An average championship belt weighs about 12 pounds. The current WWE spinning championship weighs 27 pounds. So we need a rehash. I’m proactively trying to do that, but I’ve only got so much stroke, guys. I can’t do everything.”
Cena mentions that other than The Rock, he'd most like to face Stone Cold Steve Austin, and believes Austin has one match left in him, and although CM Punk wants that match, he'd like to "throw his name into the hat." You can check out the entire interview below:

It's funny I didn't have a choice but to stop watching for a bit as I had no access, but I heard about Austin and came back just as he started getting the push against Bret, and at first I wasn't a fan as he wasn't what I expected and I didn't like the crowds turning on Bret lol.

:funny: I've been saying ever since Punk started pushing for it that I wasn't sure it was a good idea, especially since Austin said he thought Punk should be a heel for it.

Haha! That's how I felt when Austin turned heel. :hehe:

Lol, it looks like it's not only Punk you have to convince, but also another host of names including Cena. :hehe:

WWE star Hornswoggle recently posted the following on Twitter, but the Tweet has since been deleted:

"Glad @TheRock needs to sing karaoke to get his ***** in. @JohnCena will always be a true professional, doesn’t need scripted lines, bullet points, or #stupidsrxualinuendos like @TheRock"

Hornswoggle later apologized for the remark, by posting the following update:

Btw, it's nice to know that so many seem to want to change the WWE title now.

The only thing I'd rather see Taker doing...is putting over Cena or Punk. The only thing I'd like to see Austin doing...is putting over Cena or Punk. Its sad that Cena and Punk are two of the few that have even been built to that level. Even then there are problems with the fact that their challengers in the main event would be two men whose best years are behind them. But otherwise...let them retire or stay retired.

I'd love to see HBK wrestle Punk but the time has passed. No need to unsettle a good ending. Let it stay pure.

Rock vs Cena II or Rock vs Austin IV are just huge wastes of time at this point. Taker almost at the finish line of his career. Hunter Rider is right. Anything these guys do should be to solidify the future the same way it was done for them. Do so many veterans need to be hogging spots at once? I can understand one nostalgia star next year but three?

WWE has quite literally run out of time on their deadline to make new stars. Its now or never.

Relying on nostalgia acts, the veterans, and the past TOO MUCH is what has put the business in the shape its in now. Its basically trying to rebuild itself from scraps of untempered untreated materials.

Wrestling keeps doing that and its dead.

It was McMahon that "burned" the Rock not the business or the fans.
