The Amazing Spider-Man If Venom is used again, this is how he should look!

Would you have a facepalm moment if venom has at least one moment with the flailing tongue? Drool I can understand, because it does look a little over the top. But I think his tongue gave him the icon look he has today

I wouldn't mind it if Venom has a very specific reason to be sticking out his tongue, such as in the dirty joke I mentioned earlier. Otherwise, it just detracts from the characters menace and impede his ability to make his twisted wisecracks and speech in general.

This sounds weird, but I love the tongue. Lol

The tongue looks silly, lessening Venom's menace, in my opinion.

The sadistic, inhuman grin is far more menacing and frightening than the tongue ever will be.

Personally, I want to see something like Bagley's Venom.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bagley's Venom or elements of it, so long as just about any element Larsen originated is excluded.
Definitely use McFarlane-style eyes. I find that they look subtly expressive and menacing on Venom in a way that the more jacked-up eyes simply aren't:

How would you guys feel about the eyes changed shape...?

Well, it is part of the symbiote. It's not like it's an actual plastic/whatever lense or anything.

I wouldn't mind if the eyes narrowed a little, etc to show different emotions.

If you mean moving like Spidey's eyes are often shown in cartoons, comics, et cetera, then I would be completely fine with it.

Something I thought of, how about, to give Venom's appearance more detail, you segment the spider on his body, just like they are doing it with the new Movie.

I think it could look pretty cool if you do the same to Venom's spider.

There seems to be more potential in a Venom transformation sequence than I originally thought, especially in Venom's face.

Venom doesn't have a nose under their face, and Eddie Brock's ears also seem absent, so I'm thinking of actually showing what happens to them in Eddie's transformation into Venom.

Larsons rendition is not my favorite, nor shows how I interpret venom.
The drool is silly, depicted in that cover. But I think babgelys venom showin in the 75th anniversary issue is my ideal venom. Just my opinion :D
I do agree that the grin is creepy though. It is reminiscent to the Joker.

My point is that I prefer the grin. The tongue is just too animalistic, in my opinion. The protruding tongue works well for a more animalistic Venom, such as Ultimate Venom and the Mac Gargan-Venom (as he descended into cannibalism), but this Venom is not like that, so I feel it would be inappropriate for him.
There's also the practical concerns, such as speech. Venom can't deliver twisted wisecracks with his tongue hanging out. His speech would be garbled, and he might bite his own tongue off.

The tongue should only come out at certain moments. Like when he's licking Mary Jane's face.

I think when people want to see the tongue its like in the Spectacular Spider-Man, when he taunts Peter, his tongues swirls around and then goes back into his mouth. And when Venom gets angry he yells and his tongue swirls around. That's what I would like to see a mix of showing the tonge and hiding it.

Agreed. Venom's tongue should only come out when it would make sense for a person to stick their tongue out.

I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about.

Some crude, rudimentary concept art I drew up for Venom:

What do you think?

Nah, it's not bad. But it's just plain old Venom, looks like it came from the comics. Unless it's just fan-art, I'd assume by concept art you'd try something different. Not that I'm arguing, I'm 100% for Venom's movie costume being ripped directly from the comics.

The idea is to translate the comic look into live-action by adding detail to it like textures and so forth. Details I can't really draw well enough to show.

I was thinking if all of the white areas (the eyes, symbol, and square patches on the back of the palms) could look like they were the same material, it could make for a cool effect.

People actually want the white squares on the hands? They've always been a glaring flaw in the design, to me.

Why do you hate them? Personally, I don't find them essential, but I don't have a problem with them either.

Ultimate venom was probably the biggest debauchery of the Ultimate line in my opinion. I love the series and own all the issues, but dang. I really didn't like how Bendis handled Brock at all.
That being said, I agree with godzilla2014 about the look of venom. That picture he posted of venom is awesome and generally what I want him to look like on the big screen.

Actually, I think the biggest debauchery of the Ultimate line would be Green Goblin. I still don't understand why Oz + Spider DNA gives Peter superpowers without changing his appearance, yet Oz + Own DNA turns Norman Osborn into the hulking Green Goblin.
