The Amazing Spider-Man If Venom is used again, this is how he should look!

Spider-Vader. No. Assuming it takes 2 years on average to make a new film (took 3 to make SM3) then that means it'd take a minimum of 10 years to make 5 films. And you think they could make 6? Andrew Garfield would be 40 by the time the 6th film came out.

I have a feel that one of the reasons we're getting a reboot is in order to do Venom justice so they can produce a stand alone Venom movie/franchise. They've been planning that for many years and with what Sam Raimi and co. did to him in SM3...there's no good way of bringing him back and making that happen.

anyone else feel the same way?

nope. cause the way he "died" in SM3 was similar to how he "Died" when he first appeared in USM and they could easily have found a way to bring him back.

i don't give a damn if u pause the scene at the right moment and u see eddie's skeleton. we all now how comic books are and films can be the same way. they could've brought him back.

however i honestly could care less about venom now. I want to see Carnage in a film, portrayed accurately and only slightly tonned down if need be. and he should be played by Robert Knepper

But wouldn't the rights going back to Marvel depend on how long it takes for Sony to make another reboot (supposing the franchise fails)?

Theres got to actually be a termination date where regardless of production the rights revert.

No there DOESN'T have to be a termination date. From all indications the rights for Spidey, X-Men, FF, DD, and Ghost Rider were licensed off IN PERPETUITY, meaning essentially "forever", as long as the license holders continue making films on a regular basis. Not literally forever, of course, BUT the companies in question(Sony and Fox) could quite conceivably keep these rights until these characters pass into the public domain many decades from now as long as A:they stay in business, & B:they keep making movies from these properties. And, in the case of Spidey and X-Men at least, that will almost CERTAINLY be the case, unless Disney decides at some point down the line to buy out the existing contracts for a vast sum of money.

They could always shoot back to back, I remember reading somewhere that Spider-Man 4 and 5 was going to be shot like that.

I think somewhere Fox or Sony is going to f*** up their franchises & they'll be dead until Marvel revives them. Though, I don't see that being anytime soon since First Class was a fantastic movie & ASM looks like it'll be good too.

I thought he looked alright in Spider-Man 3.

I liked the look of Venom in Spider-Man3. They probably showed Topher Grace's face too much, but the design of Venom looked really cool.

An interesting design.

No THIS is how I'd like Venom to look if they choose to use him in the sequel. (Which I really hope they do.)

I never liked the idea of him just looking like a muscular man in a suit. I prefer him to look really huge, monstrous and symbiotic.

No.

I'm more concerned with the quality of the actor and the character's role in the film(s) than the appearance.

Buuuuuuuut...I will admit, the appearance is also a concern. I don't like Venom scrawny, or as huge as the Hulk...unlike WarriorDreamer, I prefer the normalish proportions of Venom from the comics of old. Just a bodybuilder-type frame, not Hulk-sized. And we don't need a dumb wrestler to fill those shoes. Get a guy who can act and have him bulk up just enough. And please, no Spider-Webs on the costume...

Agreed. Primarily, Venom just needs to be noticeably bigger than Spider-Man so that his greater strength is apparent.

Slimy with tongue and teeth is the way to go...

To me, Venom visually works best with a relatively simple look. His look is based on Spider-Man's black costume, a very simple design. Adding a bunch of misshapen teeth, a long tongue that's out constantly, and a lot of drool loses that simplicity and makes Venom look downright silly. I have a hard time looking at Erik Larsen's Venom and taking it seriously.

Normalize the eyes. Venom's mask-eyes should look exactly how they did on Black Costume Spidey, opposed to the Erik Larsen-inpired flamey, blazing, corrupted eyes.

Compare the classic eyes vs the exaggerated eyes below.

Completely agree.

My favorite Venom is still the original

As is mine (alongside Mark Bagley and other more conservative Venom looks).

Definitely needs the long tounge. It is SOO Venom!!

And since Venom in Spider-Man 3 felt more like a guy in a costume Venom in this franchise should feel more monstrous and more like 'Venom' is the character rather than Eddie being cosumed. Heck maybe we should only get a brief glimpses of Eddie then one day Spider-Man is attacked by Venom.

They need to make it different than Spider-Man 3.

No to the long tongue, at least as the standard look. It makes Venom look silly if he is constantly sticking his tongue out. It's alright if it Venom has a reason to stick his tongue out, but otherwise, no.

To me, he needs to look closer to this

That head is absolutely perfect....teeth, jaw, everything.

No. That design would look horrible if he even closed his mouth.

McFarlene's Venom is the way to go,I think. Venom should be creepy as hell, but I'd also love to see the symbiote be more of a character too...and do more things. Like maybe lash out at enemies, stop Brock from falling,;etc like he did in SSM.

Agreed.

God no to all the monster Venoms, Ultimate Venoms, crazy tentacles Venoms, weird silly elastic underbite Venoms.

Spider-man 3 wasn't bad in its interpretation of Venom. That's not a bad starting point if they wanted to do antoher Venom. Especially the pic in this thread that shows him without the Venom head and reveals Eddie underneath. I don't mind if the next version of Venom has the longue tongue, but I don't want to see it hanging out his mouth all the time it would looks silly. I'd rather it only came out when he wanted to intimidate his opponent.

Wholeheartedly agree!

You're never going to get the bland looking McFarlane Venom, because on screen it would just look like a muscular guy in a black suit.

We'll be getting a suit with some texture, like Venom in Spider-Man 3.

Which I'd love. I just want the symbol to be slightly more pronounced.

I'd be fine with the addition of texture. I'd want him to look a lot like the film's version of the symbiote Spider-Man costume in that regard. How about this symbol?

I was thinking of basing his teeth and claws on those of bears and other large predators we fear. I want those features to invoke images of the predators which hunted our ancestors to elicit primal fears of man-eaters. Venom is a predator and Spider-Man is his prey.

As far as the effects, I would want to do as much of Venom practically as possible, but since Venom has no cheeks, i was thinking about covering over the mouth in with motion capture CGI. Does anyone know how they did it in Spider-Man 3?

Thoughts?

make him bigger like what Webb is doing with the Lizard

make him bigger like what Webb is doing with the Lizard

I hope you dont mean a 9 ft tall Venom lol

I would like a more Ultimate look, or have him look like Flash Thompson's Venom when he loses control of the suit.

lol yea not that big but bigger than the we got for SM3

Agreed. He should be noticeably bigger than Spider-Man, but not so big that he looks like the Hulk. When he's that big, the character looses his agility, and he looks more like Hulk, not a distorted version of Spider-Man.

Bagelys 90s venom and witty writing is THE venom.
Basically, a realistic version of the venom we got in the psx game of spidey

It'd never happen but I'd love Jeremy Renner or Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom. I think both of them would do a brilliant job with the character.

Tom hardy... Never going to happen.
Probably one of the best choices lol

Can he play tormented and depressed?
Starving for revenge and complete hate?
You answered all of the above and more then id say hes our guy

I don't even know who that is.

But I'm pretty certain Jeremy Renner and Tom Hardy are superior choices.

Both have the Eddie Brock look and are excellent actors.
