If we get a DC Cinematic Universe, what movies would you want?(other than the usual)

A few of the characters I'd want to from the DC universe would be:

The Flash
Wonder Woman
Shazam aka Captain Marvel
Hawkman
Martian Manhunter
The Metal Men
Aquaman
The Atom
Firestorm
Doom Patrol
The New Gods

Ones in bold especially.

Thumbs up to this post! I'd only post The Flash in bold, instead of Metal Men, as Shazam, Martian Manhunter and the scarlet speedster are my 3 favourite characters.

I love the Metal Men & the idea of androids that have the unique metallic properties just fascinates me. It would definitely be something completely different if it were ever brought onto the big screen. Flash too, is also another character on the top of my list of favorites.

Wonder Woman

Oh, and I want a proper Green Lantern, dammit. Before we get into these deeper cuts, I'd like to see them get the basics right first.

Sandman, Heaven Sent, Aquaman, Teen Titans, Shazam, Martian Manhunter

To stick to the thread's original purpose which was What DC movies other than prominent JL members like Wonder Woman, Flash, GL reboot, Batman reboot, Aquaman etc would people would like to see,...

Try to keep this thread about the lesser known characters which could be overnight hits if done right guys. There's other threads about "I want Flash, Wonder Woman, Batman/GL reboot, Aquaman etc"

LOL at how many people can't grasp this and still list ("the usual") JLrs here.

I wouldn't mind the idea of a Challengers of the Unknown movie? It would be DC's answer to Guardians of the Galaxy. I see something like that being a fun adventure movie for the whole family.
Would love to see it!

Although I don't get a GotG vibe from it, more of a Doc Savage/Johny Quest/FF thing.

I'd probablly put them in their own unvierse, along with others like a reworking of BlackHawks or Spysmasher done in a Diesel-Deco-punk style would be great too!

Aquaman, Shazam, The Flash, Hawkman are all musts for me. I think Martian Manhunter has potential as well. I'll throw in Green Arrow too for the heck of it.

Also...
Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman

This.

I would love to see a Hawkman, Deadman and Spectre movie.

Love the LIGHT- SPEED team-ups.

At this point only Superman & Batman will get movies. While everyone else will show up on TV

Zatanna, Hellblazer, Birds of Prey, Martian Manhunter, JLD, Huntress.

Add me to the list of votes for more "pulp" styled DCU heroes and groups on the big screen. CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN is actually not that different from an OCEAN'S 11 styled film, just instead of criminals brought together by a mastermind character for a heist it's fate that brings a group of already world famous adventurer celebs together. Imagine a film that really took seriously the idea that these guys are haunted that they survived a plane crash that should have killed them all? Something like that could be humbling and invigorating at the same time. While needing a decent budget I also don't see the need for a film like this to warrant a break the bank kind of effects or production design.

Let me add in ADAM STRANGE. As long as it's not too tongue in cheek it could be a great, lighter styled adventure story that does not necessarily have to break any new ground narratively or sfx wise but could just be a well executed story of gee whiz space exploration.

Not in the pulp style but heroes that are due some big screen love: BLACK LIGHTNING AND STATIC SHOCK!! And I don't mean as separate films, I mean BLACK LIGHTNING AND STATIC SHOCK! Imagine the two of them together on screen. The older more experiences Jeff Peirce comes out of retirement to see about this new youthful hero who has just appeared. Would be a great mentor/mentee thing.

First I'd want a JLA movie. Then I'd want to see a Death Of Superman Trilogy (first movie: The Death Of Superman, second movie: Reign Of The Supermen, third movie: Return Of Superman).

Lords of Light Thundarr!! I think Superman qualifies for "the usual suspects" of WB/DC films. Other than the usual big 5 what do you want to see from DC. I would be interested in your take on THAT question. :yay:

*New Gods
New Gods/Fourth World. Could be DC's "Star Wars" if handled right.
A few of the characters I'd want to from the DC universe would be:
The New Gods
...New Gods ... but I doubt they will ever happen. NG would cost A LOT and the characters, even Darkseid, arent that recognisable to the GA.
My fear is they'll probably throw away most of the incredible Kirby Fourth World mythology, and instead just shoehorn Darkseid and some elements into one-note villains in a Superman, JL or WF movies. Somewhat like Johns did in his JL.
Use bits of it and characters as "guests" to promote their other properties, Instead of actually recognizing and adapting the Fourth World as it's own epic sprawling standalone mythology.
With "the Pact" and it's progeny characters at it's heart. and as the leads in a franchise.

You see, I want to see Doomsday on the big screen. And you can't really have a Doomsday movie without Superman in it (unless you were to do a movie on Doomsday's creation and how he came to Earth). Then for all the Quasi-Supermen (Steel, Superboy, Cyborg-Superman, and the guy with the yellow goggles whose name I can't quite recall), you also need to have Superman. While it's the secondary characters and villains I want to see, I likely won't be able to without Superman and the JLA.

The same goes for many of the characters listed on this thread. Katana, Metamorpho, and Black Lightning aren't very compelling characters on their own. Team them up with Batman and call them The Outsiders, then you've got yourself a movie. Same goes for Teen Titans or just about any other superhero team up. Individually the characters often can't support their own comic, let alone their own movie. But team them up with a well known and popular leader (Batman, Robin, Superman, or whoever) and you'll likely have a much more successful comic series/movie.

If there were ever an Atrocitus and/or the RLC movie, I'd be there on opening night. I have no hopes for WB to dig that deep, however.
