[flaming cars hurling at the X-men]
Beast: Storm, would you be so kind as to do something about these dealy flaming projectiles heading for us?
Storm: [shakes] Magneto and his displays of power. Think that's spectacular? Watch this...
I'd say that a giant tidal wave and violent winds would be just what the doctor ordered against a flying cars attack, in the absense of Cyclops expertly blasting them out of the air like a game of extreme shot-put.
I’m not entirely convinced a tidal wave or high winds could stop an assult by burning cars without being a danger to the entire island and everyone on it. To create a sufficient flash flood would need a lot of high/deep water, to create a wind of sufficient strength would mean a hurricane. To generate these quickly and in such a concentrated way to push back burning cars flung from a great height is questionable. Torrential rain might have doused the fires at least, but Storm quite visibly drained the atmosphere of moisture in the flashflood scene (though it was cut!). Cyclops is the only one who could have targeted those cars precisely (or Havok or Polaris if they’d been in the movies).
