Does any of this not strike people as incredibly ironic on an X-Men board.
I don't know about ironic....but it strikes me as pretty pathetic that some people can't stop arguing and fighting in even one darn thread. Argue in all the others....if arguing and complaining and badmouthing each other is what gets you through the night.

Well I have been here for a page or so now, and its been pretty peaceful, in fact the conversation has been pleasant. I see no need to do this Now:confused: I mean a couples days ago granted it was bad, but today has been nice...no one on here or the other thread has been flying off the handle.

I was seriously like: so when does it start to suck here? heh. It never happened, and i realized the reviews suffered from a perception problem due to the pacing. I knew it.. you dont mess with pacing.. it can make a good flick look bad. I cant recall any part 3 that held up that much even though not perfect.

Well I mean going places alone is fine, but a movie is kind of a social outing...I mean I go back to my place if I want to be alone...

X3 >>>>>> X2

Of the dozen or so buddies I went to see X2 with only 2 poeple walked out liking it, and neither of them had even seen a comic book. Go figure, X2 was about as loyal to an X-Men comic as Bill CLinton is loyal to his ugly wife.

Haha, again, another classic example of somebody pretending to have read the X-men comics, and trying to sound smart :down

BTW, not bashing X3 here, but just your post. X3 was a good summer action flick.

hey just two quickie questions. Why does mags let wolvie escape his forest hideout with information about his plans etc.

Why does pyro hate iceman so much? I mean like on a personal level, not just because they're on different baseball teams.

that's all. Just curious.

Wrong Thread...

Back on target ... My wife and daughter just went and saw X3 and both of them loved it... my daughter ran in and asked if i knew if an X4 was in the works, neither one complained about pacing.

I liked it and thought it was the best of the lot.

Although I was miffed by the running time and the total lack of Rogue doing ANYTHING......I really loved the movie. I think it's the best of the three.

The action was better, I felt like I was watching a book being read in the first one, as the action sequences were like third rate pro wrestling matches. The second one improved upon that, and here in X3 we have actual action.

I also liked how much of a badass Magneto became in this, although he did kind of lose his eloquent badassness. I guess in light of the cure it is understandable, but I definitely liked it when he was cowering like a ***** wehn he lost his powers.

If only the budget would have been higher, the plotline could have been better, but action is expensive. I think that is why the first 2 had better plotlines because there werent extensive power use sequences.

Overall, I go with the general consensus of:

X2 > X3 > X1

^^ I dont believe the plotlines were any better in the first two... these plotlines were as good as the previous cerebro and prejudice plotlines. FOX just gave us more action this time around. Thanks FOX.

That scene was so astonishing. She rises from her chair then the professor thanks to Jean. Her skin tunrs grey and veiny, eyes black, hair flowing all over (looked like a corpse!) He is slowly being destroyed his cheeks flapping in the wind then time stops. Wolverine looks at Professor one last time Magneto looks in the background the sinks water flying into the ceiling (almost like there was no gravity). Then BOOM he explodes and is gone. I must say that scene was flawless and my favorite of the movie. Good job Ratner  very emotionally powerful

Thats was also my favorite scene.

I really dont remember her doing anything in the whole trilogy. They havent done her character any justice.

I saw it last night. In short this is my opinion:
Well... So much for subtilty :O

If you're a hardcore X-men fan and can't stand the changes Singer already made in previous films: you're going to get a hard time. X3 is NOT Phoenix Saga. X3 is NOT Astonishing X-men. It is a very decent action-flick and nothing else. If you wanted to see the big superhero-clashes you read in the comics: watch this movie. If you're ready to see something radicaly different: watch this movie. If you want more drama in the X-men movies: watch this movies... but beware: the bodycount is frightingly high.

I loved X3. I loved Phoenix vs. Xavier. I loved Magneto's 'nothing or everything'-tactic. I loved Beast from the first shot. I'm digging the Jean/Phoenix schizophrenia. I'm digging the high bodycount.

My only critic is that the Angel-subplot was almost invisible and that ending is kinda messy... like Ratner/Fox/Marvel didn't really knew if this was 'The End' or 'To Be Continued'...

All in all... I'll probably go next week again. :)

I saw it again for the fourth time and I still liked it. X2 is still superior to X3 on my list, though, IMO, but the actions in X3 were absolutely mind-blowing and of course, way better than the first two movies.

I can't wait for the DVD.

ok, I did. so I am. X3 was at least as good as 1 & 2.

I think the people who are bashing X3 in relation to Xs 1 & 2 have forgotten what those films were like - they're not unassailable classics by any means...rather, they're good, solid, entertaining popcorn interpretations of a comic. we're not talking seven samurai being followed up by eurotrip, you know?

the major improvement X3 had on Xs 1 and 2 is that the pacing was actually better, imo. the first two films had great starts but then their third acts are pretty tame by comparison, X1 in particular. X3 was the reverse...started quite slowly, but then kicked up a gear or six and didn't let up. I prefer my films to have that dynamic, rather than start well and peter out.

to be honest, a lot of the criticism seems to come from people who are just miffed that cyclops was killed. so what? in the comics he's a great character. in the films, he wasn't. he was boring and disposable. his death served a purpose in the story, and I guarantee the majority of the non-comic-obsessed audience were not dismayed to see him go. sad but true. but this is an X-film, not an X-comic. there's no real need to relate one to the other. they stand apart.

my only complaint (and take note cyke fans, it's a personal one based on my expectations rather than a cinematic one based on the film itself...there is a difference), is that colossus was underused.
