If you like the movie - POST HERE

I liked X3 a great deal. None of the first two Xmen movies were perfect to me so I don't judge this one by some unfair standard. All three entertained me and I own the first two on DVD as well. X3 is now my fav Xmen movie of the three. It could have been a grest film had more time and a longer script with more character time for everyone been developed. Nonetheless what was delivered was fun for me and everyone I went to the theater with. Bring on the spinoffs and X4. Furthermore, bring Brett Ratner back.
Yeah, I said it and I mean it.

Overall, I go with the general consensus of:

X2 > X3 > X1

That seems to be the general consensus on the Internet. But people I talk to outside the Internet that don't spend a great deal of time in chat rooms and message boards all agree that X3 is the best of the trilogy. No one in the real world has told me they liked X1 or X2 better. And some people hadn't seen X1 or X2, so they didn't have an opinion on which was the best, but they liked X3.

I don't know if anyone else has had the same reaction or not? I know some people will say that everyone they know hated X3 and stormed out of the theater. But in my experience, the difference between the echo chamber of the Internet and the reactions of people in the real world (as evidenced by the box office numbers, exit polling and my own anecdotal evidence) has been very stark. It's like there are two different worlds out there. :)

Oh, noes! We're being watched! lol

Well, it's great seeing you here. You said that you're gonna return once the Wolverine and Magneto spin-offs stuff start rolling? Hopefully, it won't be THAT long. That's like a year and a half or something. :o :p

You're nekkid!

Thanks guys for the Welcome back.

I just returned after I saw the film because I did like it. Why oh why wasn't Kelsey given more to do? I could have watched him all night. And Famke really scared the hoo-haa out of me, and my youngest as well. (I have bruises on my arm where she was gripping it)

And the poor prof. Ending up a smear on the floor like that? WOW!!!

STOP LOOKING AT ME!!!!!
Hee. :p

You wrote a pretty good review back there, Jan. Yeah, there should've been more Beast in the movie. I felt like we didn't get enough of him. :down

Glad to hear that you liked it after all the negativity surrounding the film! :D

Of course x3 was good, wait not good..great! It tops the first 2 and beat out The DaVinci Code as well as topped other superhero flicks Spiderman 2 AND Batman Begins. The storyline was briliant and Brett did a WONDERFUL job with the continuation step.

Phoenix/Jean: Famke did a fantastic job portraying the Dark Phoenix. And her powers were unbelievable! I loved how although she was vulnerable to Magneto, she still knew who she was and she wasn't willing to let Magneto just say "Destroy anyone who gets in our way".

Storm(yayyyy!): Now ya'll know i'm bout' to go crazy seeing as how she is my favorite! Halle took the tone of Storm to the next level! She knows what must be done and how it must be done and she won't stop until the professor's dream is reached. Although she hates the humans at times, she will go into full fury when she needs to protect them. And her powers were amazing! I mean it's not like anything sh did fron x1 or x2 but she was in control and used it in an defensive and offensive way.

I have more but my fingers hurt from typing so i'll continue later.

I'm gonna go see it again today or tomorrow. I downloaded the soundtrack from iMusic yesterday. I love Famke she is mesmerizing whenever she is on screen (which is NOT ENOUGH!!!)

lol... I still think we should have seen more of her on-screen. :( i wish there were more scenes of her.

Yeah as I mentioned though most of the negativity seems to be localized to the Internet, from my experience at least!!
Oh and btw, do you have any avvies of Jean in her house? I am desperate for one!!! :D

I could have gone on and on, but most of what I had to say was already mentioned.

This movie could have been tedious, but honestly it just wasn't. It moved, it flowed, and it was engaging as well. As I mentioned in the review it could have been a bit longer, but it really didn't feel all that short to me. There was a hell of a lot going on as well, and I know I missed some things. It was also a bit more crowded than it needed to be, but in the end I blame no one but the fans. For years all they've crowed about was "More action", "More mutants", "We want an all out war". We got that. It could have been streamlined a bit, and some of that access baggage done away with, but somehow Ratner made it work and made it fun to watch. There will always be coulda/woulda/shoulda, but we got an enjoyable and fun film, and a film that actually took chances (they killed people here, lots of people)

Oh, and by the way...he ain't dead. Just "elsewhere". You'll see. It ain't over until you see a body, and we didn't see one, did we?

Go right ahead and request one at the avatar thread. I'm sure some will make one for you.

I honestly feel you have to see it twice to fully appreciate it because it moves so fast. I picked up a lot of things I missed the second time. Plus the first time was kind of a SHOCK because it was very different than what I had expected, despite having seen half the movie online already!!!

Where IS THAT AVATAR thread I better go find it!!

Guys, about time maybe we got over ourselves and actually acknowledged a rather good movie. Admittedly us comic fans were dissapointed with the depiction of some of our favourite characters, but it wasnt just a comic book movie now was it. The studios have always said that it needed to appeal to a mass audience as well as us comic nuts. Ok so maybe a lot of things were handled irreverantly, but I for one am glad that we got any x men films at all. Its wrong to blame Ratner for the films flaws when he did the best he could with the options open to him. Maybe they tried to please too many people with all the mutants and maybe the film was a little rushed in places, but many people are being blinded by their own sense of what this film should have been. I know i'm not the prolific poster that some of you are but i read everyday and it saddens me to see the comments made by people. I liked it, i didn't love it but it did for me. Roll on the spinoffs and X4
