Comics I'm getting tired of Wolverine.

Welcome to the Hype, by the way.

Thanks... Its a little intimidating but hey, these things. Seems to be a fair bit of Wolvie bashing. Happens to any popular character I guess.

If there is, it's not from me. I like Wolverine a lot. But I don't like so much what's being done with him lately.

Its more the size of the place thats scary. I run a little forum and I post on some smaller ones sometimes. I looked at the online member here and sorta had a WTF? moment.

Me neither though, on the wolvie thing... he's been getting fugly in the artwork too, which doesn't help, and nobody can seem to decide on what he's up to. His past is more complex than open heart surgery at the moment, since Marvel have discovered that the fanboys will buy nealry everything that comes out.

I would migrate to Gambit watching, but he's off the radar too, and they're shamelessly underusing Sage too.

Heres a thought, stop buying garbage titles like Wolverine Origins. How thats a top 10 title is beyond me.

^ I stopped buying them a long time ago. I'm a shamless borrower when it comes to stuff I'm not overly keen on. We have a little network at college that manages to keep them coming my way out of morbid curiosity. If I like something after borrowing it, I'll buy it in TBP.

Thank you and yes. And I agree that it's just a result of his popularity leading to "oversaturation" or whatever.

It's kind of the same reason that spinoffs and sequels usally suck, and memorabilia tends to be really cool and well made if there is only a small amount produced. As soon as they start mass-producing X-themed soap dishes and "You're a hero of a Valentine" cards and lightswitch covers of your favorite characters' faces, things tend to go a little down hill. (Although I would TOTALLY buy a Nightcrawler lightswitch cover, because, clearly, I like crap.) Wolvie is everywhere right now, and even the less talented and devoted writer/artist teams are allowed to slobber all over him, chew him up and spit something unrecognizable back at the fans. I like seeing a lot of Wolverine, but it's sad when half of his appearances feel like sightings of a dude in a Wolverine costume. I wonder if he has body-doubles, like Santa Claus' helpers at the shopping mall...

Still love 'im, though, no matter how he's being pimped out. And I'll probably keep on keepin' on with my excessive...donations to the increasingly corporate Marvel character-churn. I can't help it: he was my first love when I was, like, 6.

I was kind of a messed up little girl...

Well, Wolvie is the best.....and yeah, I buy all the Wolvie stuff too. The problem is not that there are so many titles with Wolvie in them (except for Avengers, he should NOT be in there) its that the writing just....stinks. Origins is an awesome concept, very cool. But the follow through is just lame so far. If there were writers out there like Whedon then I would be much much happier about Logan being in like 6 other books.

Really, Whedon? I would think you would want a writer who doesnt dislike Logan to write a Wolverine book.

Well Whedon writes Wolvie really well in Astonishing. He wouldnt be my first choice to write a solo series featuring Logan, but he really writes a good team book.

^Yep. I mean its cool that he has a bunch of solo stories, but I really enjoy the dynamic of the teams when he interacts with them.

I honestly haven't enjoyed Wolverine's solo stories since Larry Hama was on the book.

He needs the team to balence him a little. Otherwise you're just putting money on the numbers of pages between the next double-page fight scene/'Oh woe is me, I'm an animal' moment.

I always thought he should have got together with Storm at some point. Woulda done some crazy things to the team dynamics.

Storm would have been tons better than.....Jubilee. Ugh. I personally think he and Nightcrawler are awesome as a duo. They differ so much in personality, just a cool team. Colossus and Kitty also work well with Logan. I dont know about a romantic intrest on the team though, Rogue would have been cool.

Good times, good times. I am still waiting for that writer to "wow" me. The artist (for the most part) have been awesome, but the writers, not so much.

I can't stand whatever his name is. He's a terrible fit for Wolverine.

^Both of them are bad. Not sure the writers name on Wolverine, but Origins is just as bad. Great character, but man give Logan something to work with.

I haven't been reading it, but I do not like the artwork. The guy was bad for Spider-Man, he's even worse for Wolverine.

Oh man, don't get me started on Ramos, the dude just can't draw. Everyone is complaing about Bachalo, now this is a guy who distorts things. Not missing much, tell ya that.

I've gone from disliking the Ramos' art to being torable of it and finally becoming a fan of his work. I love Ramos; his art is very refreshing and unique.

Now for the writing. These guys are professionals and if sales can talk, tens of thousands of reader don't seem upset about Wolverine being able to come back from the dead. I believe that the Wolverine's "healing factor" is not, at least anymore, about him healing rapidly. He is regenerating. So, once you can accept that Wolverine regenerates then you'll probably find it an easier nut to swallow.

^Just can't get into it....I have tried though. Some pages look decent, but then a human shows up with a foot long neck and....ugh.

How is it confusing? Comics = Jean loves Scott. Scott loves Jean. Logan digs Jean. Jean chooses Scott. Logan can't believe Scott would cheat on Jean with Emma.
