Have you not seen the article after article speculating that Matt Reeves has quit or won't finish the movie for the past year or so? It's definitely not just a few people

Gunn's quote is 10/10 and goes back to what I've been saying the moment we got into this slow period.

Besides fanboy websites, has any major trade actually done an article on this? My point is, Gunn is giving these websites stuff to write about by his responses.

Officially, Matt was going around on the Penguin press and awards tour saying the script was almost done. It's been Gunn that's been responding to questions on Twitter saying he hasn't seen the script when trying to debunk stuff from questionable sources.

Not to mention, after the latest delay, most of the so-called scoopers have pretty much confirmed that there was a personal issue that has been part of the reason.

Not shocking that he debunked it because he can't help himself but to respond. Also, superman comes out in 3 weeks, I don't think it would be smart to confirm or deny anything related to batman which would take attention away from superman.

The reality is though, if they need to start in filming early next year for scheduling purposes the script probably has to be finished by the end of this month in order to get the greenlight and start pre production.

I imagine eventually they’ll want a big splashy announcement eventually, Gunn is clearly aware of and defensive about public perception of the issue. But waiting til after Superman seems both totally unnecessary but also like something they might want.

I hope they play it up and Matt films himself walking the script into Gunn’s office.

As Matt walks out, Gunn calls to him “wait, this is only one page. Where’s the rest of it?!” Matt winks at the camera and it cuts to black.

Gunn said they expect it [in June] in an interview. Nothing has changed lol

But I still don't have a problem with him debunking stuff like that. Especially considering he's already said when he expects it. Not a "soon" or anything. The only thing it affects is how fans perceive the situation, which is inconsequential to Reeves and his work.
