I'm Reading Your Stuff: General News and Discussion Thread

Yeah, it's time for a 1989-1997 style "blockbuster" Batman
I'd say 1995 style blockbuster Bats.

Call me crazy, but Batman Forever is one of my guilty pleasure movie and maybe the Batman's one I rewatch with most satisfation (even if it's not my favourite one).

I really miss that type of adventurous Batman. Mix it with BTAS and I'm all yours.
Clayface and Superman gives me hope that DCU is following DCAU, so... Fingers crossed.

Nothing but fond memories of Batman Forever. The movie, the McDonalds mugs, the toys, the video game. That **** was my jam in 1995.

Something with a similar vibe to Forever would be delightful - albeit better written and less flamboyant.

Forever makes me wish I was a more nostalgic person. Was my favourite Batman movie as a little kid but, Jiminy Christmas, I cannot sanction the Carrey/Lee Jones buffoonery. Arnie puts B&R over the top by being a much funnier, more enjoyable bad guy.

Kilmer's great, but even he's clearly a little lost, unhappy and in the wrong movie. Poor guy is trying so hard to do real acting lol. If you were to shoot The Batman's screenplay in the 90s I find it very easy to picture Kilmer as Battinson.

Still: Release the Schumacher Cut, cowards.

The only two issues I still have on Batman Forever is Chris O'Donnell as Robin & Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face.

The rest all still works IMO, and you I dare you to think of a more iconic name than Dr. Chase Meridian.

I agree with you about kilmer. I’ve always felt like pattinson’s batman is the closest to kilmer’s in a way. I think it’s a shame we never got to see kilmer in a more serious and dark batman movie, he could’ve easily been the definitive batman of that era imo. Although i do still enjoy batman forever for what it is!

I dont know who that is...but good lord they need help.

I don’t understand this Tina Marie stuff either.

People lying about working on this movie for clout. :weeping:

Damn is that how they deliver scripts? Is the bag gonna implode at the end?
Yes, but don't worry. With these scripts, and just like Alfred and Bruce, Wright will be fine even if a bomb explodes in his face... :o

Everything is coming together and nice to see that the actors are getting the script. I'm assuming it got an official greenlight if they are getting it now. It also means we should start hearing about pre-production soon. Maybe by November or December we actually start to get casting rumours.
