I'm Reading Your Stuff: General News and Discussion Thread

I see a company like universal wanting to strengthen it's IP and acquiring WB would do that. Especially for it's parks which, as a DC fan, being able to see something like what they did with Harry Pottery at universal would be insanely cool.
Yeah, Universal has always had a bit of a franchise problem.

But if I were Jon M Chu I'd be pissed as hell if Universal got the full rights for The Wizard of Oz right after I finished making the Wicked movies :lmao:

I don't think he would've made the movies any differently tbh. He's being true to Wicked, which has never fallen in line with Wizard of Oz canon regardless, and the non-ruby slippers are true to the original book. From his interviews it sounds like the only thing he wanted to do but couldn't due to the rights was the spiral shape of the yellow brick road, which is a non-factor.

I think Paramount is most likely because Ellison is willing to overpay because he and Trump want control of that legacy media. I could see a scenario where they do split, and sell him that part.
I think Trumpster Fire has enough to worry about these next couple of years without throwing an acquisition of legacy media on top of it.

How's that hand looking these days?

Most of the time when news like the Paramount/WB merger are brought up like they were last month it happens rather quickly after. The talk died rather fast though and then Zaz said they are open to bids. That tells me Paramount isnt offering enough and doesn't plan to.

I think the split happens and chaos ensues. None of the options are good but Di$ney and Netflix are nonstarters for me. Netflix will make pure slop and rush it out to heighten engagement and Di$ney will homogenize everything then panic and firce a crossover.

Beyond that I don't trust Amazon at all.

Okay, whichever one of you is Mattson Tomlin, DM me those casting choices. I can keep that **** to myself, I promise. :o

Jesus Christ, it’s been almost a year since we got anything new related to this universe (not counting a screenplay title page)?

Matt Reeves, you better give me some updates or smother me with a pillow. Those are your only two options. :o

So much talk about Bruce’s psychological struggles—it’s gotta be Hugo or Amadeus/Jeremiah. And a physical threat to throw fisticuffs with Batman; be it Hush or another Bat-imposter character.

I still have hopes of Scarecrow being in this, if Hush is the villain they can even use the connection that Heart of Hush established with Crane being young Tommy Elliot's psychiatrist in the past and his mentor in the present.

still not a big fan of the sequel taking place only few weeks after penguin, hoping for a time jump somewhere during the film.
