Jacqueline doesn't have anything upcoming on her IMDb aside from TBII itself, so I have to imagine she'll return.

I’m basically indifferent to any of the BTS crew coming back because I trust Reeves would find par or superior replacements, but weirdly Jacqueline might hurt the most.

The little caveat about this being the most asked about film in the newsletter is funny though. Batfans are persistent.

I did find this funny but it just goes to show you how much The Batman resonated with fans.

I feel like this franchise might be a bigger deal than I sorta figured it was. I still always felt the ‘it made no impact’ thing was turbo overblown but it feels like the combo of the movie and Penguin really did make a big impression.

It's like Craig's Bond. Normies are into it but aren't psychotic about it, so it makes it feel like there is less of a presence.

Giacchino is great (Well, he isn't, but his Batman score is very good and he does great work periodically). Britell is better. It's not gonna happen, it'll be Giacchino, but the jokey hypothetical is more than a little appealing if we're poaching the Andor team.

He willing did additional music for Mufasa. i would not rule anything out.

While we’re at it, Reeves need to find a role for the actress that played Dedra Meero, we need some of that evil stinkface in The Batman universe lol

There is so much I love about The Batman, but I’m placing that movie’s score beneath Elfman, Zimmer, and Goldenthal’s. Not nearly as strong as those other three for me.

As weird as the Schumacher movies were, they had really great scores AND soundtracks.

I did really enjoy Something in the Way being so prominent though. Nirvana’s been my favorite band since I was like 9!

It's a really good score, I like it all but the only thing that I could absolutely not do without is the theme itself. Particularly the swelling, orchestral section which just gives me chills. The Penguin score is a faintly embarrassing nepobaby hack job though, the way it samples The Batman's score is often nonsensical.

I really liked Giacchino's soundtrack for The Batman, its old Hollywood feel with sumptuous strings orchestrations and various more modern acoustic textures. But if you want a "hot take" on the theme in particular, well, even though I like the full version with all its lyrical frills, I find the two-note motif to become quickly repetitive in the context of the film...

Per example, I love the way it builds during the intro with Bruce's voiceover, but after the battle with the Halloween thugs, I find it redundant already, even if subtly played in the background... then I like it again when it acts as a transition to the following scene at the mayor's house with the police.
Another example, later, when Batman fights in the darkness at 22 Below, lit only by bursts of gunfire, the two booming notes seem almost parodic to me... and then I love them again during the final battle against the Riddler's goons.
I feel this alternation throughout the film, and while I can't say that I dislike this theme—far from it—I think it would be nice to have a more “enriched” version of it, beyond orchestral adaptations depending the mood of a scene.

I still bought the soundtrack anyway so I could pretend to be Batman... driving an old Citroën.

Thinking back to that time period around 2017-2022, truthfully I was all Batman'd out. I already thought introducing a new batman was a bit too soon after Nolan's batman. Then the whole batfleck debacle, which I was neither here nor there with. When I found out they were potentially rebooting again I took the wait and see approach. I really didn't get into it until about the month leading up to The Batman's release and then actually watching the movie. I wouldn't be surprised if more casual fans followed that same approach.
