I'm thinking Zsasz had been an Arkham inmate for decades, and Hugo Strange brainwashes him ala The Parallax View to become this Batman imposter who goes on a mission to kill the corrupt officials now being investigated by Bella's anticorruption taskforce who could reveal his connection to the corruption. So instead of the Batman imposter looking just like Batman, he has a more horrifying serial killer/slasher look. His armor a modified set of Arkham riot gear, his mask a stitched leather patchwork, with the stitches kind of mirroring his scarred face. Brad Pitt definitely has the chin for a Batman cowl and can play crazy and brutal fighter.

Not for me, but cool idea broadly - I just don’t have any interest whatsoever in another serial killer conspiracy movie. Does nothing for me. I also think the horror influence on Reeves is fantastically overstated to the point it’s barely a real thing.

Curious how the main villain almost certainly being female fits into your theory at this point? Kinda upends most theories assuming she’s not a gender swap - I say as someone who assumes she’s Hush.

It's all part of one theory for me. Brad Pitt Imposter and Hugo Strange/Jeremiah Arkham would be the more marquee villains, with ScarJo Vicky Vale more in the Catwoman role, aiding his investigation and getting close to Bruce,. Zero mention of the Elliots or Hush in any marketing. Vale is really an Elliot tho. Hugo Strange/Jeremiah Arkham were involved in the muder/suicide of Martha's parents and the coverup, as a way to gain control over the asylum and utilize the institution for criminal activity (putting away political and criminal rivals, unethical experiments, whatever). When Edward Elliot started investigating this, they had him killed, getting Wayne under Falcone's thumb would have been just an additional convenience. Vicky Vale learns about this from Riddler's revelations in the first film combined with her own investigations into her father's death. Probably begins correspondence with Riddler in Arkham, coded messages or something, or uses a press badge to interview him, sees him as a kindred spirit (another child orphaned by the Arkhams having parents put away/killed, "Children of Arkham". Like in the comics, Vale believes Bruce to be Batman, so she would blame him for having Riddler put away. Third act would have these revelation and her plans to ruin Bruce and stage a breakout from Arkham or something like that.

I find crazy how Buffalo State Hospital has never been used for Arkham.

A little late to this convo.

I like Zsasz a lot, and if it's a version closer to the comics I could be persuaded to get on board. But as others said, it seems redundant to go down the serial killer route again.
