The Wolverine In Place of Hugh Jackman?

Tom Hardy would be my choice. I'm just worried that he'd kill someone if they gave him the claws. :p

Don't worry the claws that will be used in the set are probably not real metal.

Not sure if anyone has posted this already but it sounds like Hugh is going to continue to play Wolverine for the foreseeable future.

"At one point, you're right, I said I was pretty sure. But I'm less sure as it goes along. Because after seeing this movie, the whole thing feels fresher to me than ever. And during this movie...I don't want to spoil anything, but it's kind of like a clean slate, so who knows where it's going to go. As long as I have the passion for it, and the fans will have me."

I also watched an interview of him in AxN Asia. And he said, he hasn't nailed the role of Wolverine yet and maybe in his 15th time, he would. A person who doesn't see himself playing a role for the next decade especially for the 15th time, would never said that. I know how he said in the past, that a certain film would be his last, but in my opinion, he just said that to keep people talking whether he would return or not.

Kit Harrington from Games of Thrones look to be a good fit.

I am surprised this hasn't been brought up.

I agree this was a little hair raising when I caught this

I like Hugh. Don't love him in the role, but I like him and am grateful for his casting. His leading man looks and stature have given the character (and film genre) tons of general audience appeal that it wouldn't have gotten with a shorter, stockier, slightly less attractive guy.

But we're in a different era now, where they can actually shy away from stereotypical/cookie cutter casting choices in terms of physicality.

I sincerely hope when Jackman is done Fox does the proper thing and reinvents the character closer to his comic book counterpart. If they just try to get someone to mimic Jackman's look/portrayal it will fall flat. They can absolutely go with a gruffer, darker, more sarcastic characterization now. Hell, use him like Hulk. Small doses that steal the movie(s).

That being said, my vote is still with Christian Kane. The guy is short, stocky, has a good voice and generally looks like a mean scrapper.

I agree he can carry off the look somewhat but gawd his acting sucks ! Watch him in Librarians

I wish Phoenix could do it but I don't think he'd go for something pop culture related.

The dude is an artist.

If I were the casting director I'd send Phoenix three things:

1) a copy of a Wolverine comic.

2) a dvd of Birdman

3) A fortune cookie with "Life Is Art" inside it.

They'd recast someone younger for Wolverine BUT...

People aren't going to let go of Jackman so easily so I think they should find the next Hugh Jackman in casting Cable. He can time-travel, so he can be in any timeline...

Put him in the future, and you can add she-wolverine, Tatum, Paquin, Page, Berry, Stewart, Marsden, BingBing, Sy, + other former/new characters

Past? Fassbender, Hoult, McAvoy, Isaac, + new cast

:D

Oh thats not good to hear. So they used real metal in the first film?

In that photo that Jackman tweeted ("one last time"), why are the claws black? It'd be a nice change to the new timeline :D

Nick Weschler from Revenge could do well in the role I think.
