Indy 5

Exactly...so why let Lucas come up with another terrible idea? Why not let Spielberg come up with something? I didn't hate Indy 4, but it was a step down from Indy 1-3 and it had some really cringe worthy moments.
I don't think Indy 4 was a terrible idea. The story just wasn't well executed, but I blame that on the script. Lucas is a convenient big bad to blame everything on I guess but I think there's more to it than just "Lucas is dumb".

And this of course is ur opinion :cwink:

raiders - RT 94%

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - RT 77%

okay, so crystal skull wasn't 'hated' but it is still quite a drop.

Look at the Star Wars prequels...that should be enough proof that Lucas has gone crazy. I would bet that Lucas suggested the scene with Mutt and the monkeys, I would bet he thought of the nuke fridge, and I would bet he was the one that thought hey...lets go from religious artifacts and venture into aliens. While I appreciate the fact they went for 50s nostalgia, it feels so out of place with the other trilogy and it could have been a way, way better movie. It is a fun popcorn movie but it could have been a great movie. There is a reason why Ford and Spielberg kept saying no to the man:o Now which one is out of place: Spielberg, Lucas, Ford. One of these things is not like the other.

If you watch the special features, Spielberg is very forward with how Lucas forced the aliens aspect of the story, much to Stephen's disgust. Only reason he agreed was because Lucas eventually said "well, we can call them inter-dimensional beings."

Gone crazy? They're bloody movies. Lucas doesn't deserve any blind hatred, let me repeat that word in bold, hatred, pure foaming seething hatred, for any film. He doesn't deserve continuous, exaggerated insults, death threats, or pure hatred. No one does. I've seen much much much worse films. I mean if anyone wants to hate on someone for their films, pick someone at least a bit more deserving. Like the people who screwed up the Highlander franchise. The hatred heaped on Lucas has gotten to cartoon, over the top, exaggerated proportions and I refuse to be a part of it.

Then again you're talking to the guy who wishes Indy V could be something as cheesy and pulpy as Indiana Jones Vs. Universal Monsters.

no more Indy. the last movie was pretty terrible. and despite the fact that Harrison Ford looks great for his age, i don't want another Indy film with him

i would be pretty interested in a young Indiana Jones prequel film. have Indy in his boarding school or college days and the adventures he had in those days.

Well if it happens hopefully tthey have a good plot and whp ever lands the final script writing duties touchs it up good and makes it all work.

Since Indy 4 was such a good film, I would love to see an Indy 5!

(Boy, I can't wait for the indignation this comment will receive!)

I'd really love to see Damon Linedelof tackle the script for Indy 5. I think he would do a great job. Orci and Kurtzman are welcome as well.

So what should the plot be for this? Keep it relevant for the times. Don't go backwards into the occult 1930's stuff. It has to make sense for the 50's or 60's.

Someone suggested time travel. It could be interesting as long as it doesn't go too far. I don't want to see Indy in our time or in the 30's for the sake of nostalgic Indy fans. I don't know, it could work if done right.

The other sort of movies I know were popular around the late 50s and early 60s were monster movies like the Hammer horror flicks and cheap teen monster movies (would work well with Mutt, that), not to mention adventure flicks revolving around famous books like King Solomon's Mines, 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Journey to the Center of the Earth. The one in bold is the one I'd like to see them explore- an exploration/expedition film of some sort, which would need an archaeologist.

Well it probably be set in the 60s. Personally I would love to go back to historical/mystical item hunt. As for what I don't really know what item to go for.

What do you mean go back to? All of the Indy films have done this. Besides, a JttCotE style expedition film could easily incorporate some sort of mystical item at some point. Doom didn't even incorporate one until they came to the Indian village, so perhaps there could be some race of underground dwellers at the center of the earth who have some item of mystical power or something.

No more aliens and no more artifacts from religions already covered. We need another mystical item that isn't applied to those things.

Indy in China searching for a Buddhist artifact would be cool.

But Indiana Jones isn't Indiana Jones unless there are Nazis and Judeo-Christian artifacts. That is why Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull sucked.

Now if you excuse me, I'm going to watch the best Indiana Jones movie, Temple Of Doom.

:oldrazz:

Aliens were very much relevent of the 50's. It would have been stupid of them to ignore it.

I'd say place it in 1960 or 1962. I'm more open to an Indy film in the 60's. But early, nothing later. I could see a scene with Mutt at the drive in theater watching some cheesy B movie with Indy or something. Or they cold get chased and some agents chase them into it or something and they're trying to hide within the drive in.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did take place in the 60's. Spielberg has always wanted to make a Bond film and loved the Connery ones so possibly he would want to indulge into that with Indy. Plus he was partly inspired by James Bond after all.

I don't know but i don't think I would like to see Marion again. I wouldn't mind just a Mutt and Indy adventure. Mutt by now would definitely be Indy's sidekick and be accompanying him on missions for the past few years. Open up the film in Cuba with Indy and Mutt possibly. It has to tie into the Cold War.

Ken Watanabe would make a fantastic Indy villain.

Agreed about Ken.

Marion has got to come back. She's his wife, no way around that. It will seem like Indy's a bad husband if he never even sees his new wife lol

And there's got to be a love interest.

I just don't want it to be some cheesy family adventure film. But it could work.

I always thought Sigourney Weaver would make a great Indy love interest, but that can't happen.

why would there need to be a new love interest though? like you said, Marion is his wife...

20 dollars says weaver is busy filming avatar 2 anyways... :csad: "no time for love, doctah jones" :oldrazz:

Well I do say marion should appear even if just for small role at start or end of the film. As for any love interest could be for mutt.

Jones would probably cheat on her just like he did in the 30s lol

A love triangle to spice things up. j/k

When I said love interest I was meaning that is the role of Marion now that she is the wife:oldrazz:

lol, okay, I gotcha now.

Yeah Marion should come back. Mutt too. I liked shia in KOTCS, screw the haters.

Daniel Craig for Indy! ::D

;) :p

I think Daniel would make a pretty good Indy villain.
