Infinite Crisis > Civil War ?

Did you not read the part where I said, "They already had HOM"? They had an EVENT last year, and it was an X-MEN story.

Yep, I read it...and I dont care. I dont believe that the creative process should be run by "who had an event most recently?" I'm not even an X-Men mark...I actually prefer the Avengers...heck, I porefer Alpha Flight to the X men...I'm not that big of a fan...I just really think that the story fit them, and the shoehorning of others into it doesnt sit well with me.

And House Of M was ten times worse then Civil War

you mean the fact Identity crisis was a retcon, but it was probblay the best story DC comic had put out since Kingdom come[ they had alot of great books inbetween that time to].

No, the comparison between IC and CW.

But it still was not a war, not even close. It was just a bunch of skeletons in the closet, then finally got cleaned out.

c'mon I think you are taking the "War" in Civil War a little too literal. it's not a war. Yeah the heroes are fighting but did anyone really think that Iron Man and Cap are really trying to kill each other????

They somewhat conduct it like a war, but I wouldn't call it a real war. Wars are declared.

"Cap, you got mail."

"Thanks, Falcon."

"We declare war on you.

are the heroes trying to kill each other????
if the answer is yes then this is a war
if the answer is no then this isnt a war

yea it seems they are trying to win the war anyway they can. when two big opposing forces fight, it is in fact a war.

So our war in Iraq is to simply just kill people? I think your defintion of war is a very very wrong one.

war noun, verb, warred, war·ring, adjective
–noun
1. a conflict carried on by force of arms, as between nations or between parties within a nation; warfare, as by land, sea, or air.
2. a state or period of armed hostility or active military operations: The two nations were at war with each other.

7. armed fighting, as a science, profession, activity, or art; methods or principles of waging armed conflict: War is the soldier's business.
8. Cards.
a. a game for two or more persons, played with a 52-card pack evenly divided between the players, in which each player turns up one card at a time with the higher card taking the lower, and in which, when both turned up cards match, each player lays one card face down and turns up another, the player with the higher card of the second turn taking all the cards laid down.
b. an occasion in this game when both turned up cards match.

I still wouldn't call it a war. It's not nearly on the scale a war would be fought.

Dammit, Roach. You answered before I could finish editing this in.

Wars have many purposes but one of the defining factors of a war is that the two sides are trying to kill each other

You are very wrong.

well it evolves the goverment, a massive defense organzation, superpowered people fighting, large scale battles, and the use of a cloned god. If a bunch of thugs fighting over turf is called a Gang war, then i think something like this can be called a war as well.

so by your definition it doesnt matter if they are killing each other as long as two groups are being violent towards each other then its a war......so I guess football can be considered a war or baseball or basketball or the Olympics

Gang war is kind of...honorary in a way. It's not a real war, there's little to no organization to it, just people fighting senselessly.

Either way, this couldn't be a war, there's no second corresponding government if you wanted to go into technicalities.

That would be like a war on terrorism.

people tend to die in Gang wars

Gang war is just a name for it! It's not a war! It's a bunch of uneducated idiots fighting over an area they can distribute prostitutes and drugs. Or even MORE likely, fighting because they're idiots.

LOL! Roach, awesome job trying to throw the smoke screen there by comparing it to sports. Wow, dude, that is so off base. Fact is, your defintion of War is wrong, because yes, people die in wars, but people dont have to die for it to be called a war.:whatever:

clone thor killed Black goliath, i would consider him a person.

Its essentially a War of ideals when you boil it down.

Nobody died in the American/Russian Cold War that was official, I believe
