And those of us who do know you, want you dead in the most brutal way possible. I'm thinking forcing you to endure Rob Liefeld art with Bruce Jones dialog being read to you.

Don't forget that it's all edited by Austen.

You can take your * bull**** somewhere else, this thread has class. Now, where's the monkey in the pants suit?..anyway, to answer your question, trusty is next.

We had to let go the monkeys in the suits, byrd. It got a little violent when we tried to set up the breakfast meetings and some idiot put oranges instead of bananas. True, the outcome could've been entirely different were there bananas, but we deduced that the monkeys were just too emotional about everything.

Hence we have no more monkeys in suits. But there is some talk about zebras in skirts. I'm sorry...tootoos I believe was Doug's exact wording.

I call shenanigans here! Everyone knows that only hippos wear tu-tus.:cmad:

Blame Doug at the office; I'm just the messenger.

Also, it appears we just now found out the true cause for the outbreak of the monkeys in suits. Someone was caught sharing a banana with another someone's...someone.

*oddly enough, worked as a monkey in a suit doing advertisements for a local pizza place*

Not sure I wanna know what Pizza place that is if their mascot was a monkey.

I always second guess my pizza; I'm picky like that. I have an excuse though: I'm a born and raised New Yorker. Course, now I live in Texas. But that doesn't change a thing. Sucks how the only real pizzerias (although nothing like NY) are so far away from where I live.

My stomach cries for you because you have to put up with crappy pizza. :csad:

Season II: The Legend of Byrd's Gold

Key:
Me
Trusty

Welcome back, once again to Inside The Poster's
Studio, broadcasting semi-live from the Byrd Cage,
which lies underneath stately Byrd Manor. I'd like to
welcome tonight's guest, Trustyside-kick.

Ahem, it's spelled with a lowercase t, not an
uppercase, T. But glad to be here, byrd.

Who gives a ****? I tried hard enough to get the rest
of it right...now, lets talk about Aquaman. You've
given a kick start to a character who, in the comics,
is something of a flopping fish (bad pun intended). What
is it about Aquaman that appeals to you?

I don't know. It's kind of strange (and I think you
will agree with me as I expand). As a kid, my brother
and I would always make up superhero games, and I was
always the "water" powered guy, or something to that
extant. I've always had this odd fondness of the ocean
as a kid too. Course, before I actually became a true
comic fan and began reading them, I never took more
than one glance at Aquaman. I would see the covers,
and even some interesting looking stuff, but I was in
the phase I think a lot of people are before they
really get into DC: all I knew was Batman and that was
all I loved.

I still love only Batman...But, not in that way...I
don't wanna get Bat-Aids. Anyway...Go on.

Well, when SuperFerret took on the portrayal of
Aquaman I thought "Awesome. Cool. Great.". I wanted to
see him appear in the RPG, because things like the
JL/JLU Cartoon, as well as the Waterbearer '03 launch
really caught my eye (I especially just loved the
water hand). But then "tragedy" struck when I saw
SuperFerret drop the character. I thought if I read
enough, I would take him up because by this time, I
had become a much more aware fan of DC; becoming
interested with other characters. I thought about
those games as a kid and wonder...why the heck didn't
I get into Aquaman? I never read the comics, but I had
a buttload of the toys and kept up with a bunch of the
cartoons. I guess it is cause I wasn't part of the
Super Friends generation. Timmverse all the way, baby

Tell me, when did you first join the RPGs and what
about them caught your eye?

Well, I never even knew they existed. Truth be told, I
didn't know anything about them. So when I was
browsing the DC Comics section of the Comics forum, I
saw it and went "...wait, what?" and felt compelled to
read about it. The idea that you basically would be
writing a comic and in a sense "issues" and "arcs" for
your favorite characters made me real interested.
But I must admit, being in that "Bat-fan" phase made
me sad when I saw he was taken up already.

Imagine how MB felt....

Yeah, well he plays Batman in like 3473219847 others
RPGs.

True. Bastard Bruce Strikes Again...now, which
character have you enjoyed playing and writing for the
most?

Well, while I know it wasn't and hasn't always been
top notch stuff...but I had an incredible amount of
fun working on my Jason Todd stuff. But what I loved
most were the fight scenes. I think the parts I
enjoyed most with him was when he ended up at Arkham.
But I feel my Aquaman stuff tops that by a whole lot.
I kind of write Aquaman with a different style. I
wanted to take the normal route most players seem to
do, rather than the first person style with Jason. And
with me becoming more and more of an Aquaman fan...I
must say I had a few geekasms after writing up certain
posts for him. I was like "...why cannot I see this
reflected in the comics for him more often?"

I hope you cleaned up after you were done...

Moving on...

Yes...umm, what arc or storyline that you partcipated
in is your favorite?

Well, the Darkseid arc, while it became more than
intended was definitely fun with Orin. It really
allowed me to explore more of the mythological aspects
introduced by PAD in the 90's which is what most of my
work is referenced to. PAD really did make Aquaman
shine. For Jason, I really really really loved the
Arkham Asylum interaction with Keyser Soze and
Watchman.

What poster have you had the most fun working with?

Well, that's something I'm trying to work on. Truth be
told, I haven't worked with many in anything that was
very long in a sense. Working with LT with the
Darkseid VS Orin/Pontus thing was great, but so was
the Arkham Asylum stuff with Keyser Soze and Watchman.
Then there is the much awaited fight with MB and his
Superman. I really cannot decide this one. Hopefully
next season, I can expand upon my interaction with
others. My Jason stuff and Aquaman for the most part
has been pretty contained to myself.

I wouldn't mind Aquaman and Ollie crossing paths. Like
most the JLA, him and Ollie don't get along to well.

Oh, but we will already shake things up with another
teamed up duo, won't we byrd?

Quiet!

:ninja:

What's one character you'd like to play in any RPG, no
holds barred?

No holds barred? That is really a toughy. I guess it
would be Ken from Street Fighter. I've been playing
those games since I was like 7, and haven't gotten
tired of them since. But, at the same time, I think
playing in a Street Fighter RPG would be difficult
story-wise. But he is hands down my favorite
character.

Now, you play in DC RPGs entirely. Would you say find
it more easier to write for the DC characters than you
do the Marvel ones? Or are you just a DC fanboy?

I will admit it easier for me to play in DC. And the
truth is because I am now more of a DC fan. As a
child, the only DC characters I paid attention to were
Batman and Superman (go figure), but as far as
"continuity" and "comic-related" things went, while I
didn't read the comics, I knew the most about Marvel
characters like X-Men and Spider-Man. But now, that I
read comics, I find myself steered away from Marvel.
Aside from some X-Men, Spider-Man, and Daredevil...I'm
just not interested enough. But the only title I do
collect is Daredevil, which has been awesome since
issue 1 may I add. Nightcrawler has always been my
favorite Marvel character...but I feel I've been too
far away from him to be able to play him. So I guess
the only character I could see myself playing at the
moment would be Daredevil.

Now that we have a new RPG Approval forum. What's one
RPG you would like to see made and survive?

Well, while I've had my fair share of writer's
block...I think out of all the new RPGs that has come
out, Gods & Men: The Ancient Myths RPG has the most
potential shine if it gets more players. The
opportunities are endless, and JB and SF have it
planned out so nicely. Next out of the new RPGs, I'd
say MB's Dawn of Marvels. Sure there is the Ultimate
Marvel RPG...but that has set up continuity already in
a way. With the Dawn of Marvels, it is your own
complete re-introduction/version of classic Marvel
characters. Being a member of DC: New Age, I think
there is much potential if more players join as well;
although I would appreciate more thought as to the new
capes and cowls and their origins. Overall, I'm kind
of iffy about some of the RPGs being made.

You didn't answer my question though. What's one RPG
you would like to see MADE and survive. Not a current
RPG, a brand new one.

Oh...wow I feel dumb now. Edit, plx? kthxbai. Lol,
just kidding. Um, if I saw it possible it would be a
Street Fighter RPG I guess. I just think it is too
difficult to make stories for a RPG based around a
fighting game.
So if it was able to survive, I'd be happy...but I
personally even being a devoted fan for so long think
it would be real hard
.

Yeah, LT put up an app and it didn't get any support.

I posted in it, but I myself wasn't 100% sure about
it.

So, tell me. What lies ahead for you, trusty? What can
we expect out of you in the future?

Well, I've already shakened up the Aquaman mythos
quite a bit, and I intend to do so even further. As I
stated before, I really do hope to be able to interact
more with other players. Course, I cannot quite say
anything about my other character for next season. It
isn't an entire "great reveal", but...I'd like to keep
my plans for him secret for the moment. Hopefully by
the time next season comes, I'll be even more
comfortable with him and his mythos to really make him
shine. Also, man do I want the JLA to form. Come on
guys!

Tell it to President Queen. Well, that's all I have in
the way of questions. Do you have any final words for
our readers?

Yea. If you are new to the Hype and are interested in
the RPGs, please refrain from turning away just
because your favorite character is already taken. I
almost did, but I am so happy that I didn't. There are
an abundance of characters out there, so check them
out.

Yeah. We all can't be Spider-Man and Batman....Like some people..:o

You know, I was going to try to come up with some
witty comeback...but yea, that would just be wierd.

And on that awkward note, we'll end the interview. I'd
like to thank you trusty for your time.

Thanks. And I'm thankful you chose me for your
interviewee. See ya around, byrd.

Later, Esé!

Well, it's better than "Holmes" I guess.

Once again nice interview, byrd.

Trusty, I loved our Arkham stuff even though the ending of our Crow/Jason stuff kinda fizzle out in the end.

Eh, it's cool...things don't always work out as planned. At least the parts that did go to plan went pretty smoothly and cool. Was fun working with you and Keyser back in Arkham.

Also, for the future interviewees...good luck. Sure it was done via instant messenger, but you still get that vibe of being on the "hot seat" as if doing it in person. So much stuff escapes your head and you don't get out all you wanted to. I only talked about the DC RPG, for example. Any of you other guys who got interviewed feel the same vibe/feeling? :O

Great interview, byrd/trusty. Haven't gotten to do an arc with ya yet, but your stuff is always quality, man.

(Oh, and not to sound pushy, byrd, but am I anywhere on the interview list yet?)
