So. Everyone took the news well. That sucks, I was looking forward to leading the angry hate mob.

My damn torch is all rotted now. :( Gotta buy a new one....:oldrazz:

Season II: A New Dope

Welcome to Inside The Poster's Studio. Tonight's guest
is Wiegabo. Let's jump right in, Wieg. How long have
you been in the RPGs and what attracted them to you in
the first place?

Well, I guess I've been in them for a while. But I
still feel like a newbie sometimes. I started reading
about halfway through the second season of the DC RPG.
Then joined for season three. As for joining up, you
can blame Johnny Blaze and the great writing of season
two. JB mentioned the DC RPG to me because we were
both in the DTL. I was never interested in RPGs, that
is until I started reading the second season.

I want to talk about someone you play very well, Jay
Garrick. You started playing him in One Universe
before coming over to DC with him. Do you find it easy
playing someone, who is one of the guiding lights in
the DCU?

God no. Well, not at first. I was a little scared
taking him on. I actually hadn't read much JSA before
that. So, while I was catching up on the reading, I
just tried to play Jay as an honest, kind man who is a
genuine hero. He's probably seen a little to much in
all his years, but that experience made him wise. And
that he's very protective of his friends and family.
Luckily, that's pretty much how Jay is in the books.
And now, I love the character. Especially the freedom
the OU gives me in retelling his origin.

What about Sinestro? He's a character you've been
slowly edgeing back to the side of good. Infact, he
was suppose to help refound the JLA this season,
wasn't he?

Don't remind me. Something always seems to get in the
way of that idea. But, yeah, the idea of Sinestro
actually bringing the splintered league back together
really appealed to me. As did the idea of this man,
who used to be a hero but became corrupted, learning
how to be a hero again. And learning how to do it
from his former enemies. You can sort of blame JB
again for me taking on Sinestro. He knew how much fun
I had playing Kyle in the DTL, and figured I'd have
fun as the evil ringslinger. I had been thinking
about taking on the character already, and that helped
convince me to join up.

Lets do a few base questions. What's the one character
you have enjoyed playing the most?

Well, I've only played four. Juggernaut, Jay,
Sinestro, and Batman. Juggernaut was a blast. So is
Sinestro, even though I've been slow posting with him
this season. And Batman...who doesn't want to play
Batman. The second I realize he was available I
jumped on him. Let me rephrase: I jumped at the
chance to play him. But I think Jay might be my
favorite because, in both RPGs, I get to play such a
wide range. From happy family man, to the hero pushed
to the edge. Pushed so far he actually tried to take
a man's life. I don't think you don't get to do that
often with most characters.

What posters have you enjoyed working with the most?

I knew this question was coming. And I hate singling
people out because I know I'll forget someone it was
great to work with. Right off the bat I'd have to say
Twy. I think we had great chemistry as Dinah and Jay
in the OU. It was some of the most natural RP'ing
I've done. It's also been fun working with you as the
various Flashes and Cap. And there's plenty of
others. Spider-Man9X17 as Kyle...Fighting JB's
Mordru...And now I feel bad because I can't possibly
mention everyone.

It's okay. I think you deserve some credit. You're one
of the RPGs best writers and my favorite poster to
work with and sometimes it seems you're overlooked for
some of the more louder personalities in the threads.
Now. What's one character you would love to play in
any RPG? Any character, no holds barred.

I appreciate the compliment. You're right, I don't get
nearly enough credit :oldrazz: . As for a dream character, I
think I'm required by law to say Spider-Man, just like
everyone else does. But I honestly don't think I'd do
the him justice. Playing Batman is like a dream.
Especially a young Bat with a history yet to be told.
But I think I might like to try being a villain. I
haven't even really played Juggernaut or Sinestro as
bad guys. So a villain who can have huge effects on
an RPG like Dr. Doom would probably be fun to try.

Now. You mostly seem to play DC RPG characters. Is it
just because DC characters appeal to you more or are
you a rabid fanboy?

I've just happened to have read a lot more DC than
Marvel. So I know the DC characters and universe
better. But I've got nothing against Marvel. It's
just that, when I've had the chance to pick characters
in the OU, DC characters have fit in better with what
I've wanted to do at the time. There are more than a
few Marvel characters I would like to try. But there
are also more than a few DC characters I wouldn't mind
trying too.

Since we now have a new RPG approval forum. What's one
RPG you would like to see made and survive?

Ooo, good question. I actually am in the Zombie RPG
and hope that keeps going (it's been slow lately).
But there are so many new RPGs out there now, I'm not
sure i could come up with a new one. I do wish
success to the 'Ultimate' RPG's. They've got a tough
job. Their not just retelling the origins, but
reinventing beloved characters while somehow
'grounding' them more in reality. And as you can see
in the Ultimate and All-Star comics, you can do it
right, or you can do it wrong. And sometimes it's
easy to do it wrong.

I'd like to take this time to say Ultimate Ghost Rider
is indeed teh **** in the Ult. Marvel RPG
. One question I forgot. What arc would you say you had the most fun partcipating in.

The Darkseid invasion and Ras Al Ghul arcs in OU were
great. There was an almost real-time fight against
Darkseid because everyone happened to be online at
that time. So post were being made within minutes of
each other. And the Batman/Ras arc went off exactly
like I planned (special thanks to Twy on that one).
And I'm hoping that an upcoming arc I've been planning
for a long time works out next season in the DC RPG
.

So tell me, what lies in the future for you Wieg? What
can you tell our readers at home about your plans
during the current RPG season and beyond?

Well, the OU Galactus arc is the big one right now.
Still not sure how we're going to stop the Big-G. But
we'll think of something. Bats is not going to let
Gotham fall. Or the Earth, for that matter. After
that, finally bringing the group together into a
League, and hopefully facing some challenges as a team
next season. Similarly, I have plans for Sinestro to
finally bring the League back together in season 6. I
was hoping to end the current season with that arc,
but, if everyone is available, I may try to play it
out early to mid next season. Especially since it
sounds like some big things could be happening in
season 6 that the League may be needed for.

That's all I have in the way of questions. Do you have
any parting words or statements for our readers?
Well, Harl mentioned something about playing the game
by ear when he closed his interview. And I'd have to
agree in the sense that, sometimes, it doesn't seem
like the game is a free as it could be. Some of my
favorite moments in the RPGs is when i'm coming up
with posts on the fly, reacting to something i wasn't
expected. Sometimes it's messed up an idea of mine,
and sometimes messing up one idea gives me an even
better one. Some arcs do have to be planned out ahead
of time, and there's nothing wrong with that. Yet I'd
like to see a few more chances taken. But, no matter
what the future holds, I just hope to have as much fun
as I'm having now, or even more. And I hope everyone
else has fun too and loves playing the game because,
in the end, that's all that matters. That and money.
Lots and lots of money.

No comments on my interview? Wow. I mean, I'm no Picasso, but, do you like it?

It's... great.

So, what can I do for you?

Wow... no one's posted 'til today? Once again weig's been a forgotten RPer. :( He's gonna kill us all one day for that.

Good interview.

I liked it too...just, I mean, I don't pick on wieg; he's cool. Wasn't sure what to say in reply to it. He isn't an easy target to make fun of like MB or SF. :o

I'm still kinda surprised that Byrd failed to ask the most obvious question to wieg, that question being: How the **** do you pronounce your username!?

Have you ever seen The Simpsons? Bart uses Wiegabo in scrabble.

And I was just inconspicuously pointing out Ferret's spelling error of your name. :csad:

It's ****ing hard to spell when I can't pronounce it. (Oddly though it does follow the I before E thing..)

He does, in the second episode. Although he uses 'Kwyjibo'. But I think you're the first person ever to get the reference!

And it's pronounced wee-gee-bow (like bow and arrow, not like bow at the waist)

Actually, it follows the Germanic rule of E after I to get the long E sound.

That's the reference!?

And I spelled it wrong. :whatever:

I know it's misspelled, thank you very much, SF. I caught on as soon as I pronounced it.
