Inside The Poster's Studio
Season II: Byrdment Day
Season II: Byrdment Day
Welcome, once again to Inside The Poster's Studio. We
have a special interview today. SF and myself will be
interviewing someone together. And that someone is a
lady who, if not for her work on the RPGs, some of us
wouldn't have started RPing. THE woman in the RPGs,
The immortal, the womanly, Twy. Welcome Twy and
welcome back, SF.

Thank you..thank you..
Thanks Byrd. IT's always good to be here.
Yeah, plus you stole one of my spare keys....
You mean I didn't give you all the copies. By the way Twy, you're looking lovely tonight.
*clears throat* Well I'm glad to see you're both
'properly' attired

Now, Twy. I want to start things off with three simple
words. Dinah, Laurel, Lance. She's the one character
you're most known for playing in any RPG with the
option of playing her. What are your thoughts on the
character?

I love her, I really do. She's probably the only woman
in comics that has such a rich heritage and history,
that's retained a strong 'human' element. She has
qualities we can all attain to. I do have to credit
Green Lantern for 'introducing' me to her. She was
probably the one character influential in getting me
to buy a comic book, and the one that really 'click'
for me.

You do portray her very well, emphasizing both her
down-to-Earth human side and her superheroism equally.
One moment that sticks out in my memory (at least)
where you plainly showed the true person that Dinah
is, was when she sacrificed herself to save Nightwing
way back in Season II. I think you were the first
poster to kill off their character in such a permanent
seeming way. Was it a difficult decision to kill off your favorite
character like that?

Well, to be perfectly honest, there are two reasons.
One, at the time I felt very constrained with Dinah.
Despite all of her merits and the strong potential to
play her the arcs presented in the RPG's past and
current are very limited for characters without 'super-super human' abilities. At the time that was my first such meeting with those limitations. I wanted to play someone different, more powerful to be able to participate in the supered themed arcs. But at the same time I was terribly selfish about Dinah and I didn't want anyone
else touching her.

You still are.
Well, I'm a woman in a mans world. Numero Deux was because I wanted to have a 'shocker'. In fact I remember exactly what happened that night. I
made the decision in less than an hour and I IMed Master Bruce, whom at the time it was our very first time writing together. And said 'I want to kill
Dinah'. He was shocked and then very supportive and we
actually decided whom I wanted to kill her and I picked Mordru,
Whom Johnny Blaze was playing at the time, fantastic
RPGer, very sexy too. And Johnny and I planned it out,
leaving it so it seemed final but gave me mobility to
possibly bring her back. However at the time I had no
plans to. Master Bruce reacted perfectly in his post
and the audience reaction was just..fantastic.

You threw in that "very sexy too" comment to make me
jealous. and it worked. And MB's reaction was his best post, hands down.

No, he really is wonderful, probably one of the most
supportive players.

Tell me, Twy. When did you first join the RPGs and
what about them attracted you to want to play?
what about them attracted you to want to play?
Oh, wow, well. When did I first join? I first joined
about halfway through the very first season. Back then
the characters were hardly solidified as to where they
were in development of them. But all our posts were
one sentences long and the RPG's had just come out of
very short and very dead threads with flaming and
god-modding.

The beginning of the first season really didn't have
stories either, from what I remember reading.

As to what attracted me, I can't say. Back when there
was a Teen Titans forum Batnkevlar posted a
recruitment thread in there and bugged me to no end to
play Dinah since I'd had apparent interest in her in
the DC Comics forums. No, there were no stories. I do remember one of my first lines though It was to the player playing Ollie
and I said "Hello lov-er" How sadly out of character I
was. Who played him..Dwarf Lord played Ollie

Atleast you didn't stab him through the throat....
*gasp* Spoiler!
Moving on. Twy, which posters have you enjoyed working
with the most?
with the most?
Ooh! Ooh! Over here! Over here! *raises hand wildly
like a third grader*

Oh wow, is this a trick question? *laughs* Hmm,
well...the list is very long but mostly the older
veterans, not that I want to discriminate but I've had
more working experience with them.
Wieg, Johnny, Spike, Master Bruce, Green Lantern,
Keyser Soze (whom in my opinion doesn't get enough
praise the man is brilliance, no one else can play the
Joker as good. Not Heath Ledger, not Jack Nicholson.
Im always honored to work with him), Harlkin (another
brilliant man), The Question, Watchman, Byrd_Man,
Electro UK, ElectroFlare, Spider-Man9x17...those are
just a few, I also work well with Red X and Venom 160

*ahem*
Where's my brilliant comment?!?!
You don't deserve one.
Says you...
*smiles* And I do have to admit the Tom Hanks to my
Meg Ryan would have to be SuperFerret. He always makes
me feel very well taken care of, he brings me
starbucks on sets and can ad lib over my mistakes
perfectly

That brings me to another question, when I interview
SF, he kinda skirted around a question I asked him. So
I'll ask you, what's the story on you two? Friends or
star crossed lovers doomed to kill each other?

I don't 'skirt' I evade.
*laughs* Well, we're definitely not destined to kill
each other, that I know of. Although we do have our
arguments and goodness knows I've stormed off mad and
upset before.

Many, many times.
I'm guess he's the woman of the relationship....
I am not!
Hmm 'relationship'? Wow..that's a loaded word
Byrd's looking to break a story here, it's the
journalist in him. He'll push to find something that's
not necessarily there.

Yes. I'm a gonzo journalist. We like to leave out

*puts hand on Byrds arm* I want to thank you for the
fruit basket you sent to my changing room, it was
wonderful. My entourage enjoyed it so much.

...yeah, I wouldn't go on thinking that any of the animated shows are exactly like the comics.
