Supergirl INTERVIEWS: Print, TV, SDCC2015 and MORE!

ATTN: KARANITES. Tomorrow on Live with Kelly (Ripa) and Michael (Strahan); two divas will be appearing; Mariah Carey...AND SUPERGIRL HERSELF MELISSA BENOIST. Now I read Melissa worked on a project of Mariah's a few years ago. Supergirl and the number 1 female singer of the 1990's; talk about fierce!

This must mean Mel B must be spending some time in NYC for Thanksgiving. I hope tomorrow she doesn't run into the balloons for the Macy's parade. That said; NO CITY does holidays like New York. I know I have lived near there all my life.

By the way Kelly and Michael did a promo where Michael Strahan is holding a mug complaining about his coffee being cold. Kelly then fires off heat vision...a bit too much of it and then the mug gets too hot causing Michael to drop the mug!

Check your listings for the time and channel. Here in CT, the show is seen live at 9:00 on WABC-TV Channel 7, the flagship station of the show going back to when Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford hosted it; and WFSB Channel 3 in Hartford. BUT...check your listings. And of course social media as well.

The movie was "Tennessee", it was very good....and Melissa showed at the age of 18 that she had acting chops for sure.... :)

The title slipped my mind Kelly. But let me say this, if the two ran into each other and Mariah goes all diva on her...Melissa just might fire off some heat vision! Wouldn't that be a riot? I had heard about Whiplash. But what was Tennessee about?

It's about a young man Ellis who has a younger brother, they leave home with their mom when he is about to graduate from High School after he stops his dad from almost killing his mom, the dad was very abusive....Melissa plays his high school sweetheart...his younger brother is later diagnosed with Lukemia I think, it's been awhile since I saw the movie, and he and his brother go in search of the dad for a bone marrow transplant...he meets Carey along the way. Most of Melissa's scenes are flashbacks. I can't put any of the video up because of the language. :)

Sorry, but not my kind of film. Abusive father? Sounds a bit like my life; though emotional than physical. Don't think my father ever threatened to kill my mother, but there was abuse; more emotional than physical. And I am not a fan of foul language in the films. I mean h-word here, d-word there OK. But the minute the film goes technical in terms of curse words...BALL GAME OVER. That doesn't mean I don't curse in my own home...of course not.

The flashbacks with Melissa are sweet, and there is no foul language.... ;)

Kelly, I didn't see the film so who am I to judge?

Anyway, since the thread is INTERVIEWS, today was a day to live "Life in the Fast Lane" as The Eagles once sang...Lucy Lane that is.

Jenna Dewan Tatum was on Access Hollywood Live, seen mainly on NBC stations (NBC 4 NY at 11:00AM, NBC 30 CT at 1:00PM).

Highlights...

She talks about her character and how Lucy and Kara are going to be pals.

Host Billy Bush mentioned the 7 episode pick-up, which happened this morning as well as the comic book canon…could JDT actually become Super…WOMAN?!

He and co-host Kit Hoover also talk Jenna and Channing’s January 6th appearance on Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle…and a rumor of a major pop star having a cameo and how it could blow the roof off the studio. Dewan Tatum said she had an out of body experience being on the show, how much fun it was and how it became a family affair when by having the couple’s daughter attend the taping. Some clips were played from the show while trying to not offer up spoilers, including Channing Tatum appears in drag as Elsa from "Frozen." YIKES!

The three then also talk Channing and Jenna’s being at the wedding of Sofia Vergara and Joe Manginello in West Palm Beach, Florida, Magic Mike of course and…the Backstreet Boys?

A very fun and energetic interview.

Video available here.

And there is a pic of her on her Instagram on the set and how she melded in with one of the Christmas trees set up. And another one of her goofing off with Kit Hoover.

Then she joined the ladies of "The Talk" (2:00 PM EST/ 1:00 PM CST) on CBS. Jenna became the 4th Supergirl cast member (after Melissa Benoist, Mechad Brooks and Calista Flockhart) to join the ladies of CBS’ answer to “The View.”

Like on Access Hollywood, the subject of the wedding of Sofia Vergara and Joe Manginello came up, as did the question about Lucy Lane. She said the character becomes something no one expects. Jenna did say “maybe” to there being Superwoman on the show. Take it for what it’s worth

But, at the beginning of the chat there was a clip of Jenna on Janet Jackson’s “All for you” tour about 15 years ago. Turns out she’s a huge Miss Jackson fan. Also she talked about the first time she and Channing met.

Not as energetic but fun nevertheless. And from host Julie Chen's Instagram, this.

And lastly comes an upcoming appearance on Extra. Here's Jenna with co-host Mario Lopez.

Well, here's a clip of JDT from The Talk talking about Lucy Lane.

Oh and then there was her being on last night's Conan O'Brien show on TBS. By the way Conan's show is filmed at the Warner Bros. studios where Supergirl is filmed. And there are a couple of non-supergirl related clips at Conan's official webpage.

In this one, Jenna talks about trying to avoid the paparazzi by wearing a mask.

Mod edit:
Had to take this one off because of language, BUT...when you go to the one above, this one I deleted is right below it, so just keep watching people it will come up...we just can't link right to it here. ;)

Flexed muscles, literally, are on the agenda of her current endeavor. Benoist stars as Supergirl in the CBS series of the same name. Executive producer Greg Berlanti has called her character “the Annie Hall of superheroes” and said Benoist is the reason he went ahead with the show. The fit does seem ideal. “Interestingly and simultaneously,” Benoist says, “I’m growing up the way she is and learning the same things: how to be a woman, how to own my strength.” And then there’s that costume. What does Benoist like best about it? “The cape. It’s a really light leather, with silk on the inside. It’s so easy to flourish a moment with a cape.”

Jeremy Jordan Interview

Does that mean you might venture into the dark side?
I wouldn't say that. I think as we know Winn now and how he is, it's going to take a lot for him to go there. At this point, as far as we know, as far as I know about him, there's not really that darkness in him. At least not that we've seen. Maybe it's deep below the service. It's clearly in his blood. I don't know. I don't want to say that Winn's going to suddenly become this giant super villain—I think that would make just no sense whatsoever. Though I can't really rule it out because I don't know what the big plans are for the whole series.

Chyler Leigh Interview

So there’s nothing normal about any of it. Because Alex loves her sister so much and there is so much to what she does, it’s any super hero’s story. You have to be at the ready. Anything could happen at any moment. And with so many threats to her, now that Supergirl’s out in the open. It’s Alex’s job, whether begrudgingly or not. Her job is to watch over her sister and to love her sister, protect her sister.
The great parts that we do have, and some of the work that I know Melissa [Benoist] and I love most, are the scenes where we get to just be sisters. Where it’s in the loft and we’re stuffing our faces with pizza or ice cream or whatever it is. There’s a reality to that that I think is very special. A lot of times you see the cattiness between sisters and siblings. You don’t get to often clue in on the really sweet moments where it’s like, “Okay, we can just kind of do whatever and be stupid and burp or whatever we want to do,” and it’s okay. You’re not judged. You’re on a level playing field. Those scenes are really fun for us.

Not sure if you find much in this, but last night, Calista Flockhart was on Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC. At the show's YouTube page there are two segments of the interview;

One which talks about the embarrassing accident on her husband Harrison Ford filming the new Star Wars film and included a look back at a raunchy moment from 2009 when Jimmy made a slip of the tongue. I will not include the clip (notice how that word will come into play if you decide to watch it)

But in this one, he brings up Cat Grant briefly, but then takes the talk in a whole new direction.

Well, in Jimmys defense, he did ask her about a Superhero role model.

Interview on set with Melissa from K.Site TV

Tonight, Melissa makes an appearance as a presenter on The People's Choice Awards at 9/8C on CBS. Also Supergirl is up for Best New Drama at the awards where we the people vote and can vote many many times.

Also tomorrow night on SpikeTV Jenna Dewan Tatum (Lucy Lane) battles her husband Channing (out promoting his film The Hateful 8) on the wild Lip Sync Battle. At the show's YouTube page is a quick clip of Jenna doing her thing. Having seen the clip a few times, I will not post a direct link because well, it's got stuff that would give Lucy Lane's jerk of a father General Sam "Thunderbolt Ross 2.0" Lane a massive heart attack!

Melissa will be a presenter on tonight's Golden Globe Awards on NBC.

Red Carpet begins at 7:00 p.m./6:00 central

Show is at

8:00 p.m./7:00 central

And Kelly, Melissa hits the red carpet. Most pics found on Twitter.

WTH?! They sat me next to the competition! We're livid. #supergirl vs. #superstore @melissabenoist

And...yes even Lucy Lane (aka Jenna Dewan Tatum and husband Channing AKA the first couple of Lip Sync Battle) is attending.

OK FOLKS, I GOT YOUR CROSSOVER RIGHT HERE

CYZ-xT0WQAEJbj3.png

I had a feeling they would be together!

Yesterday on the TV show HOllywood Today Live, seen at noon on Fox 5 WNYW in New York, Jeremy Jordan was featured. And...there was a scene from For The Girl who has Everything which shows

Someone from the DEO (Martian Manhunter?) has taken on Kara's role as she the real Kara/Supergirl is still dealing with the Black Mercy...AND THIS KARA'S GOT SOME BIG TIME SASS!

OH SNAP!

It's rather much fluff, but also looks into Jeremy's life a little more and you gotta love the way he comes onto the set :woot:. Enjoy.

I almost spit my lemonade all over the screen at that clip. lmao
