I guarantee it's better than the dude who used to work here that was downloading porn onto the computer. This same guy also brought his mail order bride to spend nights with him at the job because he was afraid to leave her alone at home because she would run away.

Needless to say that guy both neither has a job here nor a wife any more.

When I was in school in Toronto, I worked at UPS. A lot of people in my class did, because UPS actively recruited at the school. This one guy spent all day in class looking up celebrity fakes, or sex scenes from movies. Then, at work, he would spend a large chunk of his time talking about his newfound memories with anyone in earshot. He eventually got fired for missing a bunch of shifts in a row. But he did graduate from the program, so he was never truly gone.

My point: There may be imaginary borders on a map that separate us, but we're all united by the wretches of society who can't live without a digital titty for more than 8 hours at a time. It transcends cultures, and will be what brings us all together in the end. As long as everyone washes their hands.

I once said "thank you" to a stranger I was in an elevator with as I left. You don't know awkward. I am its source and its fuel.

I was leaving the Taco Bell drive thru once. I said, "Thanks, later". The drive thru guy, out of instinct said, " Later, love you". I instinctually said, "I love you too", in response.

We both laughed after, but that was the most awkward grilled stuffed burrito I ever received.

Yeah, majority of the time at the grocery store, our cashier and/or the bagger says something like "Have a nice day/evening" so much that our response is "Thanks, you too!". So when we get a cashier that says something different, i.e. "thanks for coming in today", we still give our automatic response of "Thanks, you too!"

Being British I automatically apologise first for any physical interaction by way of bumping into someone, even if it's not my fault, equally, the 'after you....no...after you....no after you, I insist' routine for buses or doors for example can take hours.
