Everything that's been posted I agree with, The Simpsons should've ended at the end of the 90's since they were more attuned to the typical 90's family.

And with more than 400 episodes it's hard to narrow down a list of 'BEST' episodes, pretty much it's even hard to watch reruns when you don't know from what season the episodes are and the earlier season never get shown.

I wasn't impressed with the movie since it just seemed like an extended TV episode, so yeah I think The Simpsons should end at the end of the 25th season before they really wear out their welcome.

Honestly man, I think you may be on crack. I also think Simpsons has sucked the big one for the last ten years or so. But the Frank Grimes Jr episode is brilliant. Probably in my top 10 episodes ever.

And Tomacco isn't bad either.

Any episode focusing on Lisa, no matter what the season, usually sucks. Except if it involved Bleeding Gums Murphy. The 'Lisa becomes a vegetarian' episode is probably the ep I hate the most pre-season 10.

Lisa is a hit or Miss character, but I have to say my favorite post season 10 episodes are "The Girl Who Slept Too Little" and "Girls Just Want to Have Sums".2 Lisa episodes.

I still love the Simpsons. Sure it's not as funny as it's previous seasons but it's still funny. I'd much rather have this then another show by Seth MacFarlane.

I am a huge fan of the early seasons and I held out longer than most, but I think last year or the year before was the season I officially lost interest. How long they keep it on is of no concern of mine, though.

I think the real reason it's still on is that Fox doesn't want to let go of it. When you think about it, it's really the show that put the network on the map. Before "The Simpsons", there was only "Married With Children" and "Cops", which did decently, but "The Simpsons" really exploded in popularity and I guess Fox hasn't looked back since.

It was time years and years and years ago. At this point, why not just keep running it into the ground. It's still profitable. It's already been unfunny for a while, and we'll always have our cherished memories of the seasons where it was good.

I just re-watched Marge vs the Monorail. Best. Episode. Ever.

I saw a comment on this in an article on Deadline. Someone mentioned the show needed to the end, Kurt Busiek (or a user using the name "Kurt Busiek") responded "You could just stop watching it. Then it's like it's canceled just for you!"

I know this is a often used solution, but it's only used so often because it's absolutely true, or would be true if people wouldn't be so stubborn: if you don't like it don't watch it. I still enjoy it, I'd hate for it to be canceled. I hate everything Seth MacFarlane does, but I don't wish it were canceled and all of those people were put out of jobs, why deprive someone of something they enjoy just because you don't think it's good? It harms nothing.

If you didn't like food from a restaurant would you go back to snatch food out of people's hands? Or just stop eating there?

I can totally see where you're coming from, but i suppose some of us look at it in the way it used to be very funny, it was a classic and now they are just ruining that with awful episodes, It feel's like they are really scraping the barrel. They could age the children a little or focus more on supporting characters, but they just stick with the same formula each week.

I agreed 100%. It's not funny anymore. ESPECIALLY the damn Halloween episodes, which get worse and worse every year now. I mean, WTF does MR AND MRS SMITH have to do with Halloween?!

But the worst one of them all was the Transformers one, which they claimed it was based off the Michael Bay films. They butt-faced lied; it had NOTHING to do with the Michael Bay films OR the premise of Transformers IN GENERAL. It was a canibalization of the characters I love grew up with, ESPECIALLY how they portrayed Optimus Prime. I think Michael Bay deserves an apology since he'd NEVER commit a crime to TF fans like me that was this wretched. Death to Matt Groening and company for this sin!

But fan rage aside, I seriously think the Simpsons needs to die. It's a overweigh, bloated beached whale of bad writing and pathetic, unfunny attempts at episodes that needs to be cancelled so we can bury the remains and go back to watching Futurama on Comedy Central. At least that show's still funny!

Too be fair what do aliens have to do with Halloween? Or King Kong? Or the Butterfly Effect? Or the Shinning? There are classic Halloween episodes that don't have to do with Halloween.

And transforming robots fighting on Earth? Yeah, sounds nothing like Transformers.

I agree with many High Fiving. You don't like it don't watch it. Some of us still do so we watch it.

That's not my point abut the TF episode. They killed INNOCENT PEOPLE. Prime would NEVER do that.

Post-2000 Simpsons AND Michael Bay's Transformers movies are both lame. Let's not fight over which is lamer, children. :o

I never really liked the halloween ones except the one where Homer sell's his soul for a donut

'Homer stop eating yourself'
'But i'm so tasty'

I think it's best you don't ever watch anything again. If you can't handle or comprehend the fact it's a joke and resort to wishing death upon the people that made that joke you're clearly not mature enough to watch TV or movies.

No, I am mature enough. I was just ****ing with you guys. But seriously that episode sucked.

Frank Grimes Sr ep "Homer's Enemy" was a classic. One of the best episodes of season 9.

Frank grimes Jr.from season 11 or 13 blew chunks. Just a mess of an episode.

Tomacco is just...WRETCHED. It started the Homer gets a job as crap... premise we've seen thrown around for close to a decade in every other episode.

And If I have to hear "It's better than anything else out there" aain...:barf: No it's not better than anything else out there. The Simpsons is just about par for course with other crappy television shows like 2 and a Half Men right about now. I used to watch this show since 89 and I can tell you the years where it were good passed in 2000 after the Behind the Laughter finale that year. If the series ended then it would have been a perfect run.

But it still goes on to fatten Rupert Murdoch and Matt Greoning's pockets.

It's been a decade of crap and I don't see it ending until the next big hit on one of the networks gets the habitual viewers to change the channel.

Seriously, I don't think anyone at Fox has the Juevos to kill this show and start fresh. it'd take a really ballsy executive to have the courage to cancel the entire TIRED Animation Domination block and rebuild Sunday Night.

Yeah. They don't have the balls to destroy a multi-billion dollar franchise still beloved by millions because some people on the internet don't like it. P******.

Tonight Fox is showing Lisa's First Word with Liz Taylor as Maggie.

They should end it, but with a movie and go all out on it. End everything on a high note

I think the real reason it's still on is that Fox doesn't want to let go of it.

No. It's still on the air because the ratings are decent, the merchandise still sells, and it's one of the most watched shows on Hulu. People need to realize that just because they b---h about something on the Internet it doesn't make it true. The Simpsons still have fans - they same way that Jay Leno still has fans. The sooner people accept that the sooner things will make sense.

When you think about it, it's really the show that put the network on the map. Before "The Simpsons", there was only "Married With Children" and "Cops", which did decently, but "The Simpsons" really exploded in popularity and I guess Fox hasn't looked back since.

21 Jump Street, starring Johnny Depp, was the network's first legitmate hit. It also attracted the YOUNG audience that would embrace Married with Children and The Simpsons.

Why is it waiting to get cancelled though? Can Matt Groening get some balls and give it a proper finale or something? Are they waiting til literally no one cares about it anymore?

If this show had its run done at the end of the 90's it probably would had one of the highest rated series finales and if it was well written maybe one of the most memorable ones too. Now will anyone even notice?
