Is it time to end The Simpsons?

I still enjoy it. Not what it used to be but you try doing 20+ years of a cartoon with a limited scenario (no one grows old, change is incredibly slow and you are tied to one core set of characters) and still be a success.

If they end at 25 years then that's a good, solid run but if they can go past that then why not? The show is literally older than most college students are these days. That's impressive and while quality goes up and down it's been solid overall the entire time.

Fox needs to contact R.K. Milholland about adapting a Something*Positive into an animated series. http://www.somethingpositive.net/ I think it could easily replace The Simpsons. The humor is a bit darker, But Milholland is a million times funnier than Seth Macfarlane ever was. Plus he makes all the cool obscure pop culture references the Simpsons made in their prime in his strip.

damn

sure, the show has gone downhill in quality over the past 10 years, but that show is still 10x better than most of the crap on tv nowadays

and not only that, i've been watching that show since i was about 5 or 6 years old. i remember my dad and i used to watch it on Thursday nights. good times

i just hope they give it a proper send off. and maybe in a couple of years we'll get another movie or perhaps specials.

Well, i've been following this thread, but have yet to post. Seeing this that The Simpsons will end is kind of sad. Fox is going to die now, since I'm sure its spot will become Seth McFarlane Sundays and bring down the collective intelligence even more.

If the voice actors take a pay cut season 24 will be if they don't this season will be. Also I read they decide tomorrow on when it will end. Tomorrow they will announce the death of the Simpsons.

As much as I hate everything Seth McFarlane touches now, I would much prefer a Quagmire show to a Cleavland show.

I don't understand the love for Quagmire, i'dd much rather they cancelled family guy and dedicated a show for Stewey and Brian, unfortunatelly Brian has been able to become a jerk too.

I find it dubious that they'll quit before 25 seasons but it's possible. I think the milestone of 25 years and a series finale would be too much temptation for Fox to resist. Why stop just one season short and miss out on a potentially big boost to end your first and most reliable money maker?
