it seems like it was barely a couple of months after he quit before things really started to come together for the project.. I wonder how Tom Jane feels about it.. were the producers even keeping him informed..? :csad:

I'm pretty sure it was him shooting down the script time after time, and the movie is only progressing because he's gone. Really, sir, it is time to move on and accept that he's done. The horse is way, way dead.

idk. Until I see something that changes my mind...Jane will always be Frank to me,

omg like im totolee wiht u on this bro! dun let teh hataz get 2 u ppl awlayz giv me crap 4 sayin dat shawn konry shud *** bakc n pley bond! we dun want no stooped dnayul creg he blond lol! shawn konry 4 lyf!

It's like there needs to be a pyschological counseling thread for those who can't let go of certain things.

I've moved on and look forward to Stevenson as Castle.

I think we all mourn the loss of Jane (those of us that liked the movie anyway) but it really is well past time to let go. If you need your Jane fix, go see The Mist in November, it's gonna rock.

Anyway, who knows, Ray Steve might very well put on an awesome performance and blow us all away. At least big Frank is getting another chance on the big screen.

Hey buddy, I feel your loss too, I really enjoyed Tom Jane as the Punisher, he really made you believe that he was the character, just like Micheal Keaton did with Batman in 1989. And no matter how well the new actor will do, I will still miss Tom Jane as the Punisher, however, just like in 1994, when they said that Keaton was not returning as Batman for Batman Forever, I allowed myself to seperate the films in my mind, and to not try and compare Val Kilmer to his predecessor. And you know what? He did pretty well. He wasn't perfect, but he certainly wasn't horrible. So, even though I still think Thomas Jane IS the Punisher, the powers that be have spoken, and its time to sit back, and watch the new guy take a shot. Who knows, you might be surprised...:cwink:

Mist looks great and Mutant Chronicles too. Why is MC taking so long to come out? I thought I saw footage of that like 2 years ago.

I think I remember hearing that the MC video that was leaked was only test-footage from pre-production.

It probably was but wasn't that a long time ago like before Killshot which is also not out yet. Jane has the ability to step it up to bigger and better roles but he seems to like it where he is.

The official website says in theaters 2008. A thread on IMDB says they're doing a ton of post-production (lotta digital sets, like Sin City) but I dunno.

To be honest, I'd forgotten all about it, it's been so long since Id heard anything. It looks awesome though.

Maybe he'll finally get to make a Taxi Driver style movie some day.

I like Tom Jane but I'll watch him other films. There's no need to mourne his loss here. He's not dead. Some people are just afraid to let go of what they're comfortable with.

I was a big supporter of wanting Tom Jane to come back to the role, but it's over. He moved on and LGF moved on. It's time unfortunately we all move on. I'm slowly getting into the movie, especially after reading Microchip will be in it. I won't be entirely convinced until I see some official production pics and the teaser/trailer.

Yea Jane looked the part for the Early look of The Punisher, even if the script was a tiny bit childish.
Frank's now gonna look like a wrecking machine. He looks like he's been through a few wars by this point.
Just gotta get on with it, the movie finally looks like it's goin somewhere, lets just hope they don't cock it up.

I thought Jane turned down the script because it wasn't good?
Tom and Lionsgate didn't see eye to eye anymore and was tired of false starts and left. After he left, Lionsgate found a director reworked the script and hired Ray Mr. Titus Pullo for the job of Punisher. Filming will finally start this fall.:unishr:

Here...

For those of you that simply can't let go of Jane not being the Punisher anymore, I think this may help...

ewwe....

Here's a similiar clip but this guy isn't kissing. I don't know about you but I'm pumped that Ray Stevenson Mr. Titus Pullo is Frank now. Regardless of story I believe we'll get the best Punisher yet!
