Is it too late for Tom Jane to come back?

There is no actor that is bigger than the character he portrays...at least it's very rare and Tom was great but he didn't OWN the role like Russell in Escape from NY or Snipes in Blade, Ford as Solo, etc...

Some of you are just simply in denial. He's gone. Done. Kaput. Finished. He's not The Punisher he's Tom Jane.

I don't have the same opinion. I think he was on his way to defining the role... He was The Punisher for what 10-15 min at the end of the movie? And then, if you think about the game... The voice acting was perfect.
"Bones, promises... Both break."
But, Tom is gone and Ray is going to play him now... and I hope he ****ing nails it.

It really was a good show. Once you see Ray, it really makes sense why he was chosen for the role.

Tom will be missed. But right now I'm looking forward to seeing Ray more and more as The Punisher.

I like the Punisher. I watch it on saturday morning eating Capin' Crunch like I watched cartoons when I was a little lad.

^ Why? Supposedly it was the script that was so bad...according to him. However what I'm hearing sounds a helluva lot better than the 1st film. I think it's more of Lionsgate not wanting Jane back or his agenda for this character. I loved Jane in the 1st film and I think Hensleigh is a solid director for the franchise but things change.

Time to move on.

I've been on the marvel boards alot and some people don't want to let "thomas Jane" go.

Thomas jane didn't want to neg. he wanted to go.
the studio was reported to try to talk him back and he didn't want to.

The video game was the closest I ever scene to me that "Jane" was like the punisher.

as for the script not being good?

I think the writer of the "shield" from fx is a #1 pick next to garth ennis.

They have 2 detectives interagating a serial killer.
The killer sufficates his victims and times running out.
The 2 det. try eveything it does work.
so the Chief in desperation says "Bring in mackey"

Vic mackey unplugs the video camera.
the serial killer says to him "good cop now bad cop?"
the killer mocks mackey.
mackey says "I'm a different type of cop!"
grabs a phone book and beats him down HARD!!
Vic mackey gets the confession.
the find the kipnaped girl. and save her.

If thomas jane might be able to act and look like the punisher
but this guy can write better I'm sure.

I just hope alexander can direct.
