Is Terminator 2 the best action movie ever?

bay is IMO a good action director.

As a film director he sucks, but the truth is that he is good at action, although some of his scenes look cliche.

It's in my top 10 easily, maybe top 5. But my no.1 spot goes to Aliens. I can still just stick that film on whenever and be entertained.

I wouldn't consider T2 action. Sci-fi is what I always thought it was. I mean, it has great action in it, but I wouldn't call it that. Die hard, Lethal Weapon, Predator, First Blood, are action films. And godly ones at that.

Top 5 definitely. As many have said, the holy trinity of action movies is T2, Die Hard, and Aliens. Of those three I give Die Hard the slight edge.

I would argue that a movie based on Sci-Fi ideas can never be called the best action movie.

I don't hold Alien 3 very high, but the extended director's cut is a lot better than the theatrical cut.

I liked Alien 3, I like the idea of it and how it looked. It also brought that more chilling atmosphere back that was evident in the first one.

Alien is a straight up horror, Alien 3 flounders more in psychological thriller more than anything.

Yea but I like how it went back to the same sorta style as the first one. Helpless humans trapped with one Alien. It brought back that feeling of claustrophobia. I liked that.

The second one came on TNT a few years ago and it was scary as hell, but it was fantastic.

Its a sci-fi too, but id still call it an action movie. I presonally see it as 1) Action 2) Sci-fi, but even if I didnt Id still consider it an action film.

It has Cameron's Extended Aliens cut. I won't watch the theatrical cut anymore.
