I REALLY don't think people understand BvS and what it was aiming for or what it was about, it's depth, subtlitaty or approach.

Erm, explain Lex and Doomsday. If that's DC's subtlety then I'd hate to see its bombastic.

Soft reboot with JL Part 1 seems to be what the majority wants.

I know it won't be rebooted, but I'd love for it to be. If they could somehow keep Ben that would be the icing on the cake.

I would think they'd want a soft reboot before Justice League. Batman is a murderer. Superman is basically Batman, with his sadness and anger and parental issues. Lex Luthor is basically Joker.

Do a soft reboot with the Afleck Batman film and keep Snyder far away from these movies.

How do you softly reboot from JL1 exactly?

End of the day they can continue with the remaining story threads i.e. Superman;'s death and Darkseid coming and it will feel fresh anyway. They don't want to be recasting these characters or ignoring what's happened in the previous films.

Please, no reboots and keep Terrio around...

Nope. Absolute worst case scenario: this universe bottoms out after JL1, WB cancels the remaining slate and we have to wait another ten years before someone tries again.

You can't.

If Snyder's JL goes forward (and this is likely), we will get another divisive and disappointing film.

There's no question of that now. If Snyder and WB couldn't pull off BVS, they definitely will screw up JL.

But it will be an entertaining trainwreck to see.

Nah. The tone was a bit much for some (movie did ask you to go to some dark places, yeah), but unless this tanks, I don't see why they'd reboot it. Being a fan of the fun tone I get from the SS trailer, and the fun I had with this one's tone - I'd like a universe where both can coexist.

We shall see, I don't care if the films are divisive just that I like them and I've loved both MOS and BvS so if JL continues that trend for me I'm happy.

I loved Man of Steel and liked BvS

This isnt about rebooting because the movies werent 'good enough'

This is about rebooting because that might have been the plan all along.
A trilogy of films (Man of Steel, BvS, JL1&2) and thats it

That's nice. And I have other studios to look forward to making much less divisive Superhero films. It's just a shame the DC characters are being treated this way.
This generation of youth will likely consider Batman and Superman as super lame after BVS and it's poor word of mouth. I definitely wouldn't be proud to identify myself as a fan of DC Comics nowadays. It's becoming an embarrassment.

That wasn't the plan all along. They had other DCeU films planned for after JL2.

WARNING

SPOILERS AHEAD

Anyone else feel after seeing this movie theres no way this Universe of heroes is going to go past Justice League Part 2?

Clark Kent is dead. Which means no daily planet stuff. Luthor knows the identity of all the heroes. Doomsday story is done and they are about to do Darkseid's story. Who is left? Olsen is dead. Mercy Graves is dead. Luthor is a known convicted criminal. So that makes alot of subplots like him becoming president something they cant do. They're really limited with him now.

Theres really not much left to do or places to go once they finish Justice League Part 2. Thats why I feel WB is going to reboot everything after all the currently announced films are finished.

What we're seeing now is a 'trilogy' from Zack Snyder, Man of Steel, BvS, then the two Justice League films. Its not a real cinematic universe like what Marvel made. I think the real cinematic universe is what we will get when they reboot everything after 2020.

Agree or not?

Your post simply highlights the mess Snyder will leave for the poor soul that picks up after him. They need to cut ties with him before he does more damage, I don't hate the man and I think his talented visually but this was a burden he wasn't built to handle.

They already have movies planned beyond JL2.

Reboot, not gonna happen unless WB want their stock market to crash. There's too much invested in the DCEU now that they cannot simply reboot it. They have enough time to correct their direction. It's very simple fix. Fix the tone, remove the dark grainy look (save that for Batman) and make it light, fun, and appealing to all ages for JL and hero like Superman. It's the reason why Disney does so well now with almost every single one of their movie. Who cares about fanyboy crying copy-cat. Its about winning the audience back and getting a great movie under WB's belt.

The issues people have with this franchise are easily corrected without rebooting.

Easiest way, straight up ignore stuff that didn't work, and give a throw away line for explanation why it's not happening anymore.

Here's two examples

-batman in JL 'I decided to stop killing after Superman inspired me'
-Superman 'after Doomsday I'm completely sure I want to be Superman and hold no more self doubt'

Post JL P1 I hope we get different arcs for different films, I don't want films been restricted because they're building something up bigger everytime. Make the best film you can and worry about the next one later.

They might "reboot" it like they rebooted Star Trek or X-Men, which is to say just using time travel shenanigans to mess with what already happened.

Ok I get what you're saying

Also no dour/depressing tone for the DCEU post BVS

They've already confirmed JL1 will be lighter.

The closest there will be to a "reboot" will be a Flashpoint, or Crisis on Infinite Earths type type "reboot", which would likely keep the same cast, and likely wouldn't reboot much of anything.
It would probably just be more of an event thing, and not to reset anything really.

If they do it that way, which seems likely, it could be a missed opportunity, as universe wide reboots are kind of DCs thing, and are the perfect device to allow them to replace actors, et al, when people are wanting out of their roles perhaps.

They certainly laid the ground work for it, especially with the expanded universe, as opposed to cinematic universe, allowing them to really play with the different universes.
As much as many wanted conjoined cinematic and tv universes, I think the multiverse approach is smart, in multiple ways.
