LOL, What does that mean?
BAH is something the Hulk says when he thinks it's a waste of his time or he has disdain for it. In this case BAH applies tenfold.

But if you look at the past, the CB movies that have been marketing from early on have been the most successful, all 3 Spiderman movies got an advert around 8 months-1 year before they all came out and those 3 are the most successful. X3 also had a great marketing campaign which unfortunately the movie didnt live up to, but it made the movie a success.
At the end of the day we are all moaning because we want this movie to be successful.
It would be a step in the right directionWould saying the words "I suck" do the trick, CJ?
Or would scribbling messages wrought with typos, followed by 10and 15
t:, make you happy?
Do I need to hold a candle to Lennon's "Imagine" as we all sing together? CAN I hold that candle?
Or do I just need to say the magic words "Ang Lee's Hulk wasn't impressive" and I'll get you off my back?
I'm not going to intentionally make an ass out of myself just so CJ is Happy.![]()

As for the INCORRECT marketing of Hulkif Finding Nemo had been marketed as a sci-fi film, it still would have been the #1 grossing movie of the summer of 2003 and the #2 grossing movie of that year. Why? Parents would have said to other parents, "its not sci-fi at all, but its still really good! Take your kids!" No one was saying, "Hey, The Hulk isnt an action-packed, summer blockbuster, popcorn moviebut its still really good! You should go!"
True dat!
Actually I think "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" by Bryan Adams would be better.
"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" cost a paltry $5 million to make.
Millions never even HEARD of this movie until AFTER it was out.
They couldn't even find a major studio to back it.
It made $241,438,208.
That's $236,438,208 PROFIT.
Good, because I hated the song that I offered... but love that Bryan Adams song and the movie that it was the theme to, which is one of few that I actually own, both VHS and DVD.
Even if it gets pushed back, if that means better quality CGI, story, etc. I'm all for it. This movie HAS to put The Hulk back on the map. The way I see it, they have one shot at this.![]()
Honestly I don't think all of that came from marketing...(at least with these two examples)
People went to see the first Spider-man... because it's freaking Spider-man, one of the most well known and well liked heroes. They went to the sequels as the first was such a high quality.
X3 as well had two highly praised films behind it to help it's hype.
Ang Lee's "Hulk" started more than a year beforehand, PLUS it had the largest product tie-in in movie history up to that point.
And we all know how that all panned out in 2003.
Everyone that's got their panties in a bunch because things haven't gone their way, trailer and marketing-wise:

A month later, the Hulk teaser is seen. A year later the movie is released.
Hulk cost $137 million to make.
Hulk made $132,177,234.
Ouch. Bad hair day.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding didn't have the amazing hype and marketing plan that Hulk had. It is the most successful independent movie of all time. It was hardly marketed. IT MADE HUGE MONEY. Why? Because it was good. Word of mouth is the most successful form of advertising. Halloweenthe second most successful independent movie of all time. It made huge money for its budget. Why? See above. These movies didnt have huge marketing campaigns behind themthey hardly had ANY marketing at all.

It's a bad job on Marvel's part... you don't reboot after five years... they should have went Thor... then C.A in 09... then the Hulk in 2010... Hulk will suffer from the Ang Lee factor.
True , but even so 180 million is high. Very high....
Yes i know that it requires CG humans but considering that Marvel is the one paying for these movies i'd assume that the budget was slighty higher then Ang Lee's movie but definately not higher then 150 million
It is indeed, too high for a first movie in a franchise anyway, New Line made this mistake with His Dark Materials. The Golden Compass had a budget of $180 million, but because it ONLY made $325 million WW a sequel is in serious doubt.
It's always a gamble with these kind of movies. New Line expected this to be their follow up to LOTR. And we can say that it was a wrong move on New Line's to make the movie with so much cash .
But then again , it did work out for the first narnia movie. 180 million budget and it took in a whopping 744 million WW.
And let's not forgot New Line who also took a risk with LOTR and spending 300 million on all 3 movies and shooting them back to back. The result :
17 oscars and nearly 3 billion in ticket sales.
So yeah it is always a gamble. However one thing many of these high profile blockbusters have in common is a huge marketing campaign. Because the studio knows that they're spending so much cash , they want some public awareness. Yet i think the only people who really know that a hulk movie is being made are movie geeks and readers of movie magazines.
Ehm no , the first narnia movie really cost 180 million (excluding marketing)http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/2005/LWWRB.phpNarnia only actually cost $150 million to make, so it wasnt that much of a risk. If Newline had just spent this on TGC, we may have been expecting a sequel if the DVD sales were great, not i think any sequel is dead. They made a big a mistake handing to the director they did IMO. Weitz just wasnt experienced enough with blockbusters and the direction was big problem of the movie. It was enjoyable, but should have been slowed down and MUCH better.
You're kidding me right. There is no way that could've happened. The whole reason Peter jackson didn't make LOTR with the weinsteins of budget issues. They had initinally planned to make 2 movies instead of 3 and had agreed on a budget of 75 million for each movie , so it was 150 million for the whole project. When the weinsteins saw that the project would cost more , they wanted 1 movie for the whole trilogy. It was then that Peter decided to stop the project and afterwards it was picked up by New Line who agreed to make it into 3 flicks. Now if New Line had just said that they would spend 190 million for all 3 movies , meaning that each movie would be made for less then 70 million , wouldn't Pete just stop with the whole project.Actually, New Line's initial commitment was $190 million for ALL THREE MOVIES. It was only when FOTR did so well that more money was poured into TTT and ROTK, both of which had many re-shoots once FOTR came out.
Yes this i can agree with you. I'm sure Marvel/Paramount is spending a good deal on Iron Man's marketing. They are trying to get awareness but considering the amount of cash spend in Hulk , they should also release something .So true, the majority have enough money to make of Blockbuster's with this type of budget that do well enough for a sequel start their marketing campaign at least 6 months before release.
Now I'm starting to take bets as to when we will see something substantial... I mean will we get a Hulk image this month? Or a teaser in March? How much longer can they go without giving us something. It seems like they have given us too much on Iron Man and nothing on this...
