I was going to get a 360, but my brother agreed to go halves, but only on a PS3.

That and I want the proper version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, not the 360 version where I'd be forced to use that turd controller. Oh and Blu-Ray.

I don't have much spare time anyway, so volume of games is hardly a problem.

I can understand it for Blu-ray. But the 360 controller a turd? News to me.

I play my 360 more than my PS3. First because of the games, and second because on MultiPlatform games, I like the 360 controller much more.

The 360 controller is far superior, the PS3 one is too light, and the ripped off motion control is unresponsive.

Well if your not interested in those games, get a 360. Don't waste the time, money and energy to try and find a Wii. Its not worth it in your case.
I was only going to buy a Wii for Godzilla Unleashed, if I get a 360 I can get Halo and that LOTR army battle game and Star Wars KOTOR, thanks for your opinion.

If your interested in the KOTOR series, you will probably like Mass Effect as well, which comes out in a few months. Looks to be one of the best games of the year and only going to be on the 360.

I just hate the shape, the convex buttons, concave analogue stick, the weird alphabetical face denomination and the triggers.

The lightness doesn't bother me (and will be rectified with the DualShock3), and I don't use the motion control anyway.

But thats another topic entirely, and I know I'm in the minority.

you can just get a ps2 controller and use that with an adapter anyway can't you?

I don't know much about game consoles but the Wii seems to be aimed more at couples and groups of friends, families etc. Not the serious gamers

Don't really think thats a problem though

the shape fits perfectly into your hands, it does take getting used to though if you switch from a PS controller of any kind to it, but I cant even use a PS controller anymore cause it's so awkward to me now

convex buttons? and how could the concave analouge sticks effect anything at all? same with the letters used, I dont even look at them, it's just second nature as to what they are, and the triggers (which Sony stole for the sixaxis, btw) are fine...

1. I didn't think of an adapter. B*****ks.

2. My brother split the cost for the PS3.

3. Concave buttons bug me no end. Its a personal taste that will never change.

4. With the trigger, I meant the L1/R1 buttons feel like I'm clicking a mouse, not pushing a button. I also like the wide L2/R2 pads over the thin 360 triggers. Just personal taste.

5. I like the shape, and feel that the ergonomic shape of the 360 controller is too organic for me if that makes any sense.

NB: I'm getting a Wii for the girlfriend for her birthday, validating Hollywood Red's theory. Welcome to the Hype! Red.

not really. It has compatiblity issues and half works in some cases and completely doesnt in others. You have to sync up the PS3 controller with the PS3 and you cant do that with the PS2 one, so its hit or miss

I thought the weight would bother me at first, but its perfect. I think the PS3 controller is better than the 360 except when it comes to FPS which that controller was made for. As far as motion sensing, I think its vey responsive, sometimes too responsive. I think the problem is implentation which has been a bit shoddy in most cases

I personally think the Wii is here to stay, because it appeals to a wider audience. Sure, it's gimmicky...but it's here to stay.

Got mine at Christmas, and I'm not bored with it. Sure, most games look childish...but adults still enjoy them. I jut find it funny how riled up people get at Nintendo though, for just looking 'childish'.
Games like Zelda and even if it is a port, RE4 makes good use of the wii-mote. I do wish there was more games right now though, but hey, I've got Mario Kart, Smash Bros and Metroid coming my way.

If people want to ***** and moan about it, I play other consoles too. Just because it's different doesn't mean it's awful and just a fad.

How the hell is the thing that happened to Dreamcast considered a fad? What kind of poll choice is that.

I agree .

Its not awful by any means. I don't think anyone thinks that.

I've been bitten by a fad (EyeToy) before though, so I'm being extra careful this time. I'm happy with my PS3 for the moment though.

You can't really compare the shoddy Eye Toy with the Wii. The Eye toy was a silly add on that wasn't really used. The Wii is a complete console which by default obviously works and will last longer then the Eye toy.

The Wii is fun, the motion sensing is actually pretty amazing. Playing Wario Ware really shows what the system can accomplish. It's slowly getting into it's groove, but once developers realize all they can do with it it will take off. It's not a fad.

The Wii's not a fad and it won't go the way of the Dreamcast. First, the Dreamcast thing, Dreamcast came out a year before and got buried as soon as PS2 hit the stores, Wii's already held it's own for almost a year now against the big boys. As for the fad part, I'm sure it's because of the controller, if it was a fad, why did Sony copy motion sensor? Also, Nintendo has always lead the pack in controller inovation, triggers and rumble? Nintendo introduced it, Nintendo was also the first to really use analog, Saturn may have had it first, but it was really only for one game. Guess that stuff was just a fad too.

Personally I'll always buy the new Nintendo system becasue I know that even if the graphics aren't as pretty, they make the best first party games and lead the pack in inovation. In the 16-bit days, I just Genesis first and thought it was great, but when I saw games like Zelda and Mario Kart, I had to get a SNES. In the next generation, again wasn't thinking about getting Nintendo's product, why do I want another Mario game, he's lame, then I saw Mario 64 and what next gen gaming actually was. Yeah, Nintendo relies on certain franchises, but those franchises deliver every generation.

Looking at the history of gaming, Nintendo is the company that's lead the pack in inovation for console gaming. Sure not everything, Sega introduced disc based gaming, Microsoft introduced real online gaming, can't think of any inovations in gaming that Sony has made, but Nintendo has a much longer list and it's doing it again now with motion sensor, it's not a gimmick, it's the future.

Looking ahead to the holiday season, there's more Wii games I want than 360 and one of the 360 games is a gimmick, Guitar Hero 3.

I dont know, Nintendo has recently had some ******ed controller designs. The Wii, GC and 64's controllers were all weird as **** compared to their older SNES / NES models.

sloth7d i was refering to the poularity of the dreamcast how everyone was like omg dreamcast in '99 and '00 and in '01 everyone was like dreamwhat? not in the sense of the dreamcast being a fad...

get it??

The N64 had the best contoller design of all time

Why are you talking so much crap today?

why?

don't you like games?

Nice. Yeah I like games, but I don't really have much time on my hands at the moment, so the few great games I have I'm happy with. Motorstorm, Fight Night and RS:Vegas. The only games I'll buy this year for my PS3 will be Ratchet and Clank and Pro Evo 2008.

Besides, generally Nintendo games hold no sway over me. Yeah Mario is the be all and end all to some, but I need something more I don't know, substantial with a bit more depth than rescue Princess Peach. Again.

Whilst you're generally right, although I feel that the EyeToy was under-developed. That could have been something special if focussed on. The Lemmings minigame hinted at some promise.

At the risk of sounding like one of those cheeseballs that disagrees with the common consensus just too sound cool: I hated the N64 controller. It was HUGE. The trigger was awkward to get to, and there seemed like a million face buttons (labelled in letters and convex, with a concave stick).

For me (admittedly a Sony fanboy of sorts) the DualShock wins every time.
