Is there any crime worse than rape?

Serious question

This is something I've pondered for a while. I have known people who have suffered it in the past and it completely changes them. They get shut off from the world and their personalities change irrevocably

When someone is murdered, it's horrible for the family and will often be quite painful, but ultimately it's over in an instant. When someone is raped however they have to live with that for the rest of their lives.

The only thing I can think of would be paedophilia, but that's a form of rape in and of itself anyway

Basically it doesn't get any worse than rape in my book.

Murder IMHO is worse.

1. It's final.
2. Less possibility of closure.

Rape,.... is relative.
Yes you can scar the victim for life,... but the victim IS ALIVE.
Yes the family will have the burden of the victim,... but the victim is alive.

For me it's a no brainer.
Given a choice between being raped and being killed,.... I'd prefer myself and my loved ones raped vice killed.

There's a guy at the prison where I worked who molested 2 little girls and was place in general population. The other inmates found out about it and gave him a taste of his medicine by seeing just how far a man's behind can stretch. They placed a bar of soap, roll of deodorant and a few pencils back there at the same time! The inmates have now been charged as he has snitched on them and now is in protective custody at another prison but dude has a psych seeing him daily due to the emotional distress he went through.

That's craaaazy.

Yes, The guy who's raping had HIV or AIDS, so he's rapeing them and slowly killing them. Thats the worst. You can get over Rape, but not if you have AIDS.

There are levels of torture that are more traumatizing than rape, so that wins for me.

Also, going through rape is more difficult than being killed, though, while people who have been raped may occasionally wish they were dead, I can't bring myself to desire death over rape right now, even for loved ones. As stated before, there's a lot to be said for actually being alive. You can still do good in the world if you're alive, meaning that murder not only robs you, but the rest of the world. I now think that's worse, even than torture.

Murder, imho, is the worst crime.

Mutilation (cutting off of ones noses, ears, face, genitals, etc)

Your teacher was a *****ebag. If someone put a gun to his head and said "either I rape your child or I spray-paint a naughty word on your garage door" I somehow doubt he'd go with the first option.

I'd have to say torture is the worst thing. Anything that is traumitizing and leaves you alive to feel it is the worst. The most worst, which I have read about, would be the skinnings and left several days until you die. It's supposed to be the most horrifying thing someone can go through, and next, being burned.

Murder is more horrifying for the people of the victim I think. Once your dead, that's it, no more pain, imo. But torture, abuse (physical and mental) and rape, (there have been rapes so horrible, that they left women completely damaged and to never be able to have children, that is something you can't get back) I do find to be the worst.

I'm probably butting into a discussion, but I didn't read through the whole thread. Honestly, I voted murder is worse, but I think both murder and child rape are worse, I just wasn't allowed to choose both. Murder takes the toll on the family, and also it is a person's life they will never ge tback. With rape, it is a long road, but people (I won't generalize women) are able to come back from it. Child rape, on the other hand, can seriously mess up that child for life, due to their minds just not being able to comprehend. Many can find a balance and live mostly normally, but I feel as though they'd always be haunted, and still others may not be so lucky.

I looked a page back, saw all the religious mumbo jumbo, and elected not to read the rest. So I shall be blabbing without context!

Murder is obviously "worse." Assuming that a rape victim (even a child) will never recover from the violation is extremely presumptuous. At least give them the chance to do so. Murder victims are dead, so they will never have a chance.

Abusers, rapists, and murderers definitely go on my s**t list though. All of them.
